Pt cruiser 2002 Alarm red light solid on

Your alarm is ]n valet mode. If your led is pod mounted there is a button in back of it. If your led is hard mounted in the dash, you'll have a hidden switch usually mounted on the kick panel or under dash. Either way, turn on ur ignition push the button turn off the key, your led should go out. Hope that helps.

Alarm goes off with ignition on. Dash lights work so there is power but nothing at the starter motor

Sounds like the security system is armed. It is designed to disable the starter. If you don't have a key fob for the alarm, try locking and un-locking the driver's door with the key to disarm. If that doesn't work, look for a very small black button or toggle switch that will either be taped to wiring under the driver's side or the dash, or mounted to the very bottom of the dash above the driver's legs.

How do I disarm anti theft device on a 2001 ford taurus

SEE THE STEPS WITH CAREFULLY AND COMMON SENSE:God bless you
Press the unlock button on your vehicle's key fob to deactivate the alarm. If you've misplaced your remote for the car, use the PATS programmed key to unlock the driver's side door. Then, put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. The vehicle's battery should be on, but the engine shouldn't be running.

  • 2 Locate the override button on the alarm box, beneath the driver's side of the dashboard. Press the button and hold it in until the alarm beeps one time. The LED light for the alarm should stop blinking, indicating the anti-theft system is disabled.

  • 3 To reset the vehicle's alarm, put the PATS programmed key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. Press the override button. When the alarm resets, it chirps two times and the LED light begins blinking.

I WANT TO FIX PRESTIGE CAR ALARM IN THE CAR' AND HOW TO CONECT THE WIRES

Below is a fast installation guide for most car alarm systems. Refer to your manual were needed. Car alarms can be hard to set up and include bands of wiring and sensing elements to instal. Take it step by step and taking after the operating instructions cautiously.

Steps to installing a car alarm system.
    1. Mount the siren to a solid surface under the hood. Make sure that you point the horn of the siren toward the ground so that moisture won't affect the sound or horn.
    2. Drill a hole through a rubber grommet in the firewall of the car and feed the sirens wire through the hole into the passenger compartment of the car.
    3. Feed the power wire through the same hole on the passenger side. Make sure there is enough slack to reach the car's battery. 4. Connect the alarm's power wire to the battery.
    5. Put a fuse on the power wire next to the battery.
    6. Mount the shock sensor as described in the car alarm's manual.
    7. Drill holes in the dash were you will want to place the LED status indicator. Feed the LED's wire through the hole and place the double-sided mounting tape to the back of the LED and place it over the hole in the dash.
    8. Find the wires that work the car's power door locks.
    9. Connect the door-lock relay to the lock/unlock wires and connect the alarm wire to the relay in the manner described by the tech advisor. 10. Locate the wire that works the courtesy light if the alarm has current sensing.
    11. Connect the current sensing line from the alarm to the courtesy light wire.
    12. Locate the factory door trigger if the alarm does not have current or voltage sensing.
    13. Connect the factory door trigger to the alarm.
    14. Locate the starter wire on the steering column below the starter switch. Cut the line and connect the starter disable relay. Connect the starter disable wire from the alarm to the relay.
    15. Mount the valet switch somewhere under the dash.
    16. Connect all the wires to the proper inputs and outputs of the alarm.
    17. Find a sturdy surface under the dash and mount the module under the dash.
    18. Use tie wraps to secure the wires of the harness and mount it under the dash.
    19. Arm the alarm and test. Adjust the sensitivity as needed.

I had to change the battery. After replacing the new battery all systems work, but the car won't turn over and the factory alarm is blaring. How do I disable the factory alarm? I do not have the...

    Hi,
If you have the Toyota factory alarm, there should be button under the driver's side dash to reset the alarm....Look for it 1st, then read below.

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking, to the ON position.

Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
    valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
    and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
    flip switch in opposite direction,
    then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
    back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

Alarm is mal- functioning need to by pass alarm made by karr i think orinal equipment car starts sporatacly but have to play with remote to get it t o start help

It is simple just trace the wires - you will notice that installer will have teed in the wires – just cut off the T to the alarm - where you spot wires have been cut and attached with the alarm wires, just remove the alarm wires and rejoin the original wires and you won't face the alarm problem again.

A lot of owners coimment about Karr alarms and are so bad! Do yourself a favor and replace it (they comment like a personal opinnion).

I just got an accord and it came with a paper manual for the 2040. I had to reprogram the remotes though. Here is how Kar said to do it, you will have to fool around with it to figure out which buttons go to which channel, and I only had to press the button 3 times not on off to get it into the mode. So when it beeps once it meets its in channel 1, twice, channel 2:
    * First, locate your valet switch. The valet switch is either going to be a small black push button, or a small silver toggle switch. The valet switch is either mounted on the plastic panel on the left side of the vehicle, near your left ankle as your sitting normally in the driver’s seat or directly behind the LED light.
·Turn your ignition key to the “on” position, or start the vehicle.
    ·Within 10 seconds
+ you have a silver toggle switch:
·Flip the switch “on” and “off” three times. (on-off-on-off-on-off) qIf you have a valet push button:
·Push the push button three times.

    * The alarm system will chirp one time, letting you know that the alarm is in programming mode.
·Hold down the arm/disarm (center) button on the transmitter, until the alarm chirps again, confirming that the transmitter has been learned.
    ·Turn your ignition key off.

    * The alarm will give one last chirp, letting you know the alarm has exited programming mode.

    * The new transmitter is now programmed to the vehicle, and will arm and disarm the alarm system.

If you have problems programming the transmitter, please feel free to call at (949) 707-4210, or toll free at (800) 395-5277.

I bought a Chevy Trailblazer, used, had keyless remote access Viper Alarm after manufacturer. Had trouble with transmission and alarm....took to Chevy dealer they replaced transmission. Now the remote...

You need to find the black push button called the valet button. That is the overide. Get in the car turn the key to IGN as the alarm is going off and then you have either 5 or 10 seconds to push that button once and then 2-5 seconds later the alarm is shut off. To put the car into valet mode which means no alarm at all you put the key to IGN push that button once then pull key out at which point the blue light should turn solid blue.

Or option two is you open a door and hit the lock, then unlock, then lock button again on the remote and the blue led will be solid which means no crazy alarm.

    Alarm will not go off

    Answer
Gotcha, let's put it into valet/service mode,
and try to reset the alarm to default mode.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
    should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
    turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode to see if this was corrected.

Let me know if it works for yours.

How do i disable alarm for my 1996 thunderbird lx 4.6

    Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area in most cases,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
    key off.)

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.
