My 1981 Corvette Alternator light stays on and my choke light is also on and will not cut off making the engine race. Do I just need to replace the Alternator? thanks

I would ahve the alternator tested to see if it was bad first, if so I would replace it and see if that improves your choke situation. If the alternator is not putting out enough voltage it can affect other systems in you car including an electric choke system.

You need to have the choke adjusted so it runs on a fast idle so the engine can warm up or you may need the carb to be rebuild and adjusted properly.

could be a bad brake light switch which is mounted near the brake pedal under the dash try adjusting the plunger which contacts the pedal maybe its on going in far enough otherwise replace the brake light switch

have you checked to see if the choke is on? this light lets u know the choke has an open circuit, it is heated by stator wire from the alternator.

1981 corvette seat conversion

you will need to pull off the four retaining nuts holding seat in place. Measure the length and width of bottom support frames. Many seats are interchangable.

Battery light stays on

Many possibilities but the alternator is a good place to start, if its plug is loose, then the green relay inside the center console just to the left and slightly in front of the emergency brake will be clicking in connecting and disconnecting the battery( one loud click per time). It will need replacing or simply disconnecting works for the short budget.
