Remove the negative terminal from the battery and let the car sit long enough for any residual power to void the electrical system - This should clear the ECM (cars computer system) memory- after the system has time to reset, reconnect the negative terminal and give it a shot...It should reset the ECM however if your husband changed any settings during his scan your ECM may need reprograming

My 2006 vw jetta tdi lost power and died wont restart am told need code to restart but dont have right code

You will have to have the fault codes read by a code reading machine . That will tell you why the engine stopped. I am suggesting that you check to see if the cam shaft is turning when you try to start it as the timing belt may be broken. Repair/replace items listed by the codes -reset the CPU with the code reader

2003 jetta. EPC lite is on. brake lites do not work. cruise does not work.

Check all your ground points. The brake lights and cruise may be grounded to the same spot. Re-check the cruise fuse and brake/tail light fuses.

Try checking the key reader it's usually a plastic ring around the key barrel. If it's dies will not read code in key to enable the car to start. Check your key is sending a code as well.

2003 volkswagen jetta security enabled car wont start

Use the other spare key remote, if it starts it means your other key fob maybe bad or needs battery replaced. If it still does it then your immobilizer receiver is malfunctioning. That's if it is related to your immobilizer. Have it scanned for trouble codes (DTC), this way you won't be guessing and start replacing unrelated parts.
