If you are sure that you have the timing marks correct and you have spark ... move to the next basic test ... fuel. Spray some quick start or brake cleaner or carb cleaner down the intake and crank it over ... if it runs you either have no fuel or your injectors are not firing.
Sounds good ninemil, I would also check for any bent or disconnected fuel lines that would restrict the fuel flow as well. I do not know if this has a fuel pump assembly but you should be able to hear it actuate on when the key is in the "on" position. How did it act before you shut it off? Was it harder to start? Make sure you buy a high quality pump (Carter) many of those cheaper brands will fail trust me.
First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.
i would try replacing the crank sensor, its mounted behind the head of the engine on top of the trans bell housing, the connector for the sensor runs over to the passenger side of the engine near the fire wall, just follow the harness to the sensor, not bad to replace, and if its not your problem you can always return it,i have seen alot of these go bad, another way of telling is to crank it over and see if the check engine light goes off,if it doesnt the computer isnt seeing a crank reference, crank it for about 10 seconds, hope this helps
Do you mean no spark from coil? If so, check crank sensor, distributor pickup (also refered to as cam sensor) and ignition control module (if you have one it is located next to coil). Most common of these is failure of crank sensor. BUT, check before replacing. 'Won't hurt to buy a manual to guide you through testing!
probaly try first a quick and easy fix is make sure all ur chassis gounds are clean grounds no paint you would be surprised how much resistance that will cause and also make sure all ur chassis grounds are hooked up right
