WE had jumped a car the other day and the cables had touched, now the alarm system wont allow us to start the car. Its a chevy malibu 2006 maxx V6. We need to know how to disarm the alarm on our car so we can use it. This is my grandmothers car and it is a serious inconvenience to her, please any ideas will be appreciated.

Did you check the anti theft system fuse, was the key in the on position when you crossed the cables? ive seen complete electrical systems damage from doing this

Testimonial: "Where is that fuse exactly?"

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2010

You have to look in the fuse panel, Which is either under the hood, or on the side of the driver dash, or under the dash, on the fuse panel cover it should say what is what

Im having problems with my 05 maxx..... electrical???

I would get all the electrical schematics and then look for problems like blown fuses affecting the areas you are describing. Then systematically troubleshoot the wiring. Simple.
Now, I am looking for the mentioned schematics on the web. I just bought (2010-01-28) a 2005 Malibu Maxx, and can't wait to have it ready for pickup in 2 days...
