I have a 52 reg vauxhall corsa 1.2 sxi and while i am driving along, usually above 60 mph, every few miles the handbrake light will come on then all the dials and gauges including petrol and engine temp on the dashboard will cut out, however when i accelarate the car the dials pop back up to normal. what is wrong?

Hi, Did you notice the motor actually reving higher when the tachometer was reading a higher rpm.. If it was it could be your transmission slipping.. Set your cruise control and listen to your motor while the tachometer starts moving erratically.. Good Luck

Yes. You can get the MOT station to do the repair or you can try and solve the problem. Check your fuses, the earth connections, your wiring and the voltage at the bulb. It could also be a faulty switch. I hope some of that will help.

suspect it could be tank unit this is similar to a ball valve in a toilet .float arm moves up or down depending on fuel level sends reading to gauge situated in fuel tank sometimes part of the fuel pump
