When I turn the key nothing happens for more than a second.

Given the complexity of the starting system it's no wonder this doesn't happen all the time ,an on most all newer vehicles . Knowing what happens when you turn your key to the start position would amaze most people . Watch this video , shows how the starter circuit on your vehicle works .

If you have a second key, try that one. Sometimes 1 key will unlock, 1 key will start. If not it would be the anti theft or security system disabling the ignition module. Which is why it won't even try to turn over.

A weak battery will make the lights come on & energize the solenoid for the starter, but the battery is too weak to make the starter motor turn. Checking the battery would be first, the solenoid second.

check the clutch start switch or the park neutral switch operations
you need the clutch in to start and there wia switch there that may need adjustment
same for the auto park /neutral switches
check wires

could be worn ignition swtich.check battery and connection

Hello:Try this procedure: turn key on, turn to start, let key come back to on wait ten minutes, turn key off wait 10 seconds turn key back on wait 10 minutes. turn key off wait 10 seconds turn key back on wait 10 minutes turn key off wait 10 seconds NOW try and start. I have the exact same problem - did you ever find out what was wrong?

Sounds like a security system try putting the key in turn it on dont try to start wait 10mins turn off remove key for 5 seconds repeat 2 more times see if this helps

sounds like you need to check te battery conecttion and make sure they are clean and tight
