As I'm driving, my headlights will go off and then come back on. The problem is starting to get worse. The lights on my dash also come and off when the headlights do. What could be the cause of this?
You need a new module. it costs about 300 to 400 dollars to replace. I had the same problem. First time the lights went off I was on the Pa turnpike. only way to handle the immediate problem was to hold the high beam knob on until you hear the click that the regular lights are back on. then release the high beams. until the problem occurs again. invest in the module its safer.
I had the same problem and i bypassed it so i didnt have to buy a new lcm.
Your headlight switch is done
Sounds like you’re headlight relay is going bad
Possible a loose connection on your bulb check the wires are connected and check the bulb is in correctly if that's not the case try utuve or go to a garage and ask them ..?
When my 2006 Dodge Charger R/T lights started blinking off and on when I turned my headlights on , I also noticed that when I left them on the continuos on position they didn't do that. So I replaced the part where you turn the knob to turn your headlights on, it just pops out to replace, and that solved my problem.

Ford extended the WARRANTY for 1999-2011 Mercury Marquis, Mercury Marauder, or Crown Victoria. I had it fixed under this Warranty Extension at a Ford Dealer in Scottsdale, AZ in 2014. 1999-2011 Mercury Marquis, Mercury Marauder, and Crown Victoria's are all eligible. My Ford dealer replaced the LCM (Lighting Control Module for the Headlights and Tail lights). That’s what you want - an LCM replacement. It would have cost $1,000, but because of the extended warranty, it was free! Guess what?! Great News! After that, Ford came out with a RECALL on these LCM's.. Call your Ford Dealer and make an appointment. The Extended warranty program is called the Customer Satisfaction Program 14N01. I don't know if the Recall has a specific program name. But the Recall is the most recent. One of these should work. If they act dense, ask to talk to the manager or tell them to call Ford Motor Company and ask them, or you can call Ford yourself."
Auozone sells a plug in module for the headlights. It plugs into the headlight module. Gotta climb under the driver's side dash. It did help me and than the recall came through.
These are all good answers here and very possible the lighting control module could be it but I've seen headlight switches do this long before lcms ever existed take out the switch and see if the shaft that the knob fits on has a little movement if it does plug it back in and you should be able to simulate what's happening by moving the shaft either side to side or slightly up and down this would copy what's happening when your driving and hitting bumps the switch shaft may be fluttering from years of wear no idea how old your vehicle is because you didn't post that but this is a symptom of a bad switch but everybody else has good possible answers here so mine is the cheapest first then the recall if it applies to your vehicle also what's the Condition of your directional switch is that wiggling around probably not but the headlight switch has the dash lights headlights and interior lights all in it as well as the lcm so good luck stephen
