That is why the A/C clutch is not coming on.If the temp is below 50 degrees the auto control will not allow the compressor to kick in to protect the compressor. You have to check the codes for the body control module. It should show a code for the outside temp sensor. You could have a bad sensor or wiring. If you disconnect it it should show -40 degrees.check wiring and connections.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix with a digital climate control system. The heat quit working, it doesn't blow out any heat. Now that it is warm outside the air stopped blowing out any air. The digital temperature on the climate control is not correct. When it states that it is below 30 degrees on the ext and it is warm outside the air wont be cold. Once it starts going above 30 degrees the air gets colder. Today the blower stop working all together. Was told it maybe the climate control unit was bad. You can hear the door opening/shutting when you switch the temp from cold to hot. But there was no heat blowing out whatsoever in the winter time. Could you please give me your opinion on whether or not it is the climate control unit or something else?

I have the auto climate control heat/ac, however the a/c compressor does not engage so I get no a/c cooling in the cab area of my 2003 sorrento.

Normally the air conditioner clutch is activated by the a/c fan switch. If the protecting fuse is blown, neither fan nor compressor will operate. Check your a/c fuse in the fuse box.

The climate control screen does not work, when i turn on my heat on, gas level goes down to empty

I assume you mean the car burns more gas when you turn on the heat. The climate control panel also controls the air conditioning system. When the air conditioner is turned on it activates the belt driven compressor thru electrical relays and clutch system. The clutch is located on the compressor pulley, its the secondary outer most ring. The cars engine has to work harder because of the extra load on the engine when this clutch engages. This causes the car to have a higher demand for fuel. The malfunctioning control panel could be activating the airconditioning system unknowingly to yourself. Replace the control panel first, if that doesn't solve the problem check the compressor clutch to see if its engaging with the aircondition system turned to off. If thats the case, check for a stuck system relay.

Digital external readout stays at 50 degrees, constantly. Not a big concern, just annoying. Heat and A/C work fine Digital reads change when using those functions but exterior always says 50. If cheap,...

External sensor is most bad or cloged. Remove the plastic cover that the hood prop rod fastens to and you will see the sensor. I purchased mine from the dealer for twenty dollars. If it gets worse and reads below 32 degrees your a/c will not come on. This happened to me in July.

Climate control display for Outside temperature

Had the same problem, replaced the ambient air temp sensor in front of the radiator. Cost is like 10-15 bucks. Don't worry if temp doesn't change right away. Took me about 5 miles and then it worked great.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd 4.0L A/C problems

this is most likely a a lack of r-134a (as freon is no longer used), if your system is completely out or close to it then the pressure sensor will not allow the compressor clutch to engage, it is also possible that there is an electrical issue but less likely. to know for sure you need to put some gauges on the system
