Tricks or special tools to replace rear outer seals on 2004 tracker zr2 4x4

  1. Jack up the vehicle: Use a floor jack to lift the rear of the vehicle off the ground.
  2. Remove the wheel: Remove the wheel and tire from the rear axle.
  3. Access the seals: Locate the rear outer seals on the axle and remove any retaining clips that hold them in place.
  4. Remove the old seals: Use a seal puller or a flat-blade screwdriver to carefully remove the old seals. Be careful not to damage the axle or surrounding components during this process.
  5. Clean the axle: Clean the surface of the axle where the new seals will be installed to ensure a proper seal.
  6. Install the new seals: Carefully place the new seals onto the axle and secure them in place with the retaining clips.
  7. Replace the wheel: Replace the wheel and tire and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
It may be helpful to have a service manual for your vehicle on hand, as well as specialized tools such as a seal puller or a bearing packer. In addition, a clean and well-lit workspace will help make the process easier.

How to change driverside c-v joint chevy venture

You don't change the cv joint. You purchase a half shaft left or right side and you replace the whole axle shaft they are around $150.00. Take off the tire, remove axle shaft nut, remove spindle from lower ball joint and pull the axle out of spindle then you take a large pry bar and carfully pop the axle shaft out of the transmission. Very easy job only takes about 1 hour to for complete job.

I replaced the right front cv axle on my 2000 Chevy Tracker with a new axle. The axle keeps pulling away from the wheel hub pushing the snap ring on the outer portion of the shaft out of its groove. I've...

reason u replaced the cv the first time ?? problem could be the hub has play or trans/engine mount went bad causing the motor and trans unit to flex under acceleration and braking-- check ur axle lengths by measuring old original to the new ones before swapping out again
