You need to introduce in it the security code - it's a 4 digit number that is specific to that radio. The number can be found in the purchase papers and the user manual of the car, along with the instructions on how to input it.
In order to fix you need the code, typically the code is in the owners manual somewhere. Otherwise you can get the radio code from the dealer. I have seen this problem about 10 times and the code has always worked. Hope this helps!
If I recall from my 98 Disco 1, if you don't have the security code from the owners manual then you have to leave the motor turned on constantly for something like one hour to override the security block and code. I learned this the hard way and then finally found the codes hidden away in the glovebox. Initially I drove around for over an hour (I think it was) with the radio power on and it finally came back on.
have you got a picture of stereo or model number as they all work differently , i will be able to tell you how to put code in and clear security with this information
I had a new cd player fitted to my 97 discovery and that did. Raido codes are free, providing you can prove ownership. Just visit a main landrover dealer, they got mine in about 10 minites.
