S80 T6 No oil pressure warning light flashes when

S80 T6 oil warning light flashes (message reads: No Oil Pressure) when taking right turns only without pushing on the gas pedal. once I straighten out our push the gas pedal the light goes off.

Oil was just changed and reading full. On the IPDUSA website they describe a similar problem but at idle instead of when turning. They say it has something to do with an oil sump o-ring. but again it is not describing the exact same problem that I am having.

Make sure the oil level is up to full. sorta sounds like its low and when you go around a corner the oil sloshes away from the pickup tube

  • dougbender51 Apr 03, 2010

ya now i remember it is sucking air were the pickup mounts to the block.when you are turning a corner with foot off gas it is ideling. wasnt that hard of a job as i remember take off oil pan and then pickup and replace o ring. the fun part was scaping off volvos anerobic sealer without scatching surfaces of block or pan. must use plastic scraper no metal or abrasives whatsoever reason being they are a machined close fit.any scratch and it will leak. then only use the volvo sealer and you applie it with a foam rubber paint roller like the one you would use for a very fine and smooth clearcoat on a boat. also when this problem happens most of the time the oil on dipstick immediatly after running will show some foam or little bubbles on it

2005 ford free star warning lights

Is this one of the 3 lights in the lowest corner of the display? These 3 lights are for the 3 following functions.
-(Top lamp). Speed limiter Light.
-(Bottom left lamp). Trans Axle warning light.
-(Bottom right lamp). Oil Pressure Warning light.
This sounds like it could be the speed limiter. Check for any switches on the dashboard and the steering column for switches with the same logo as the speed limiter light as this can flash to show it is active.
The Trans Axle warning is the systems electronics showing there is a possible issue with the transmission.
The Oil Pressure light shows there is an issue with the oil system such as low oil or low oil pressure in the engine.
You will often find the Trans axle and Oil warning lights usually don't flash.

I have a Saab 93 2002 Turbo 2lt with a low oil pressure warning alarm coming on. The oil level is correct and I have also replaced oil and filter. The warning light now comes on after 60km, but vanishes if...

the first thing to do is to have the oil pressure read using a mechanical gauge
that ensures that you know that the engine is running with the right oil pressure
you can test the ECM operation by using a substitute ECM that is a known good unit
run the fault codes to see in the oil pressure sensor is a problem
At this point , test the oil pressure as suggested then change the oil pressure sensor

MY OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED ON SCHEDULE AND THE LIGHT KEEPS BEEPING AND FLASHING HOW DO I TURN IT OFF

If it is your oil pressure warning light, the pressure sensor has probably failed these devices are more often at fault than the actual oil pressure. They aren't very expensive and take only minutes to replace.

I have a 2000 s80 t6 and the no oil pressure light comes on when the car is at an idle. Is it an oil pump problem?

Is the oil at the correct level when cold? If so, it could be the oil pressure sending unit or the oil pump itself. Have it checked as soon as possible. If there is a lack of oil pressure and you continue to drive it, you'll cause damage to the engine.

Oil light flickers when in idle. Oil on dip stick measures fine.

install a mechanical guage to test the actual pressure, if its fine the sending unit is faulty, if nor remove the oil pan and check the oil pickup for blockage,

NO OIL PRESSURE warning came on suddenly. I stopped the engine and started it after 10 mins. It was running fine until the same warning came back. Dip stick reads full. SOMEONE HELP!

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. I understand your concerns. No oil pressure is one of the worst things that canhappen to an engine.

The can be caused by a bad oil sending unit or a problem with the sending unit wiring.

The really is only one way to troubleshoot this and that is to read the oil pressure with a direct pressure gage. Most of the time that involves installing a direct reading gage at the oil sending unit port and verifying the actual engine oil pressure. If it is normal the most probable failue is the sending unit.
If the oil pressure is really low then the following things have to be checked:

1. Oil pump
2. Camshaft bearings
3. Main crankshaft bearings
4. Rod end bearings
5. Oil pump pick up tube in the oil pan

You can pull a valve cover an watch for oil flow but it is NOT going to tell you the OIL pressure.

The only easy fix is that of the oil sending unit and associated wiring. Everything else requires disassembly of engine parts for inspection of clearances.

Volvo S80 1999 Dashboard Light Problem

Is it in the center of the dash or in the right corner? The one on the right is for the ABS. The one in the center is a general message. Using the read function on the signal stalk there will be an explanation of the light.

No oil pressure light on

the oil pump is located inside the oil pan..its a real big job to replace..from all of the codes that are showing up on the dash i would say it was the computer going crazy..and the oil pump is probably okay u may have to just buy a new computer
