The arrow is supposed to indicate that you have selected a lower gear. It illuminates when you are driving with the lever in a lower position that the normal "D" ( drive of course ) If the lever is in the "D" position and the arrow is still lit, I guess there must be a small problem within the indicator system. I think I'd lose the bulb before I spent money to restore a fairly unimportant feature.

I don't know what it means but sometimes if you turn the car off, allow it to cool down, then turn it on and let it sit for about 10-15 mins before you drive it the arrow goes away... i hope that helps...

I have Volvo s70 2000 model, Check engine, arrow up flashing and service light are up, very hard to drive, can only go 25 miles per hour Whats wrong??

go to Advance auto parts to test the OBD II sensor codes first to see what codes are coming up. Advance auto parts has one there they can check your codes for free.

AC dosnt work

This is unfortunately a very expensive and laborious fix. The Evaporator behind the dash board is leaking on you, and you have to remove the entire dash and instrument panel to get to it.

This is a job best left to someone who has worked on your year, make, and model.

I would generally start at the dealership, and they may recommend someone who works on the 2000 Volvo S70 who works locally to that dealership but independently.

Hope this helps.

Blinking light on dash board

It may be possible that your Park Neutral Position Switch (PNP Switch) is getting ready to fail. The switch is located right on top of your transmission and is connected to your shifter. This is a common problem. I doubt that your entire transmission is failing, because that is rare with the S70 line. Has your check engine light come on? The check engine light can be triggered by the failing PNP switch. You should take the car to a autozone if you do not have a code reader to see if this problem is sending a code to the computer. If you are unsure where the port is for the code reader, it is located inside of the center console armrest and has OBD II on it. It will same something such as Transmission position switch failure....if I can remeber correctly when it happened to me. If it displays this message, then it is definitely the PNP switch failing. If the PNP is failing be careful. Mine failed failed when I pulled into a parking space and as soon as I put the car in park, the check engine light came on my and the red arrow started flashing. I thought something had gotten wet and I decided to turn the car off for a reset, however, it would not let me start the car, because it thought the car was in some other gear besides park or neutral. So you should have it fixed ASAP. If you order the parts online, it can be a cheap fix. fcpgroton.com has this switch for a cheap price with great quality. How many miles do you have on your S70? My switch failed at 110,500. Let me know how that goes for you.

An Arrow indicator light flashing repeatedly at intervals

Something is going on with the transmission control system. You need to find out what codes are stored in the system. Most likely the transmission range switch is failing.

Volvo S70 won't start - battery, generator, or other

usually multiple clicking (like a machine gun) does indicate lw battery voltage. did you get 11.9 volts with it running or car off? with running you should be over 13.6 min up to 14.0 volts. these cars have a fair amount of electronics with some residual voltage draws which may shorten battery life. 4 yrs is not too bad. i would consider replacing battery
