The fault code relates to the fuel pressure sensor, it is either detecting low pressure, or is faulty.

It is most likely low pressure, either caused by an injector excessively leaking back through the leak off system or the pump is not pumping hard enough.

Start by getting a leak back test done on the injectors, and also a rail pressure test, if both come back as ok, then it is most likely the sensor that is faulty.

good luck

My 2010 navara has broken down and come up with the faults PO403 EGR system and P0089 fuel pump, what's the most likely problem? It's lost all power and blowing smoke out.

code p 0403 refers to exhaust system gas recirculation (EGR)---circuit malfunction====causes wiring---EGR solenoid ---ECM
code p 0089 refers to fuel pressure regulator---performance problem===causes fuel pressure regulator---mechanical fault
as you indicate smoke , that would be black smoke , so that indicates a problem in the pressure regulation making the injectors pass more fuel ( flooding) than the ECM cam control
The end result can be blown seals at the injectors or injector problems
at this point replace the pressure regulator, then consider the EGR solenoid

I have a mitsubish L200 triton with acceleration problems and give an error P0089.How to fix the error

code p0089 refers to fuel pressure regulator---performance problem===causes --fuel pressure regulator--- mechanical fault
check the regulator operation as it controls the operation of the fuel pump as well
At this point I would be considering a new regulator or checking any wires connected to it

How to fix p0089 obd code on mitsubishi strada

What is the fuel suction valve? fuel pump? You never stated a year. Did you replace the fuel filter? P0089 is generic code for a fuel problem. What was the fuel pressure? Did the pressure hold for 10+ minutes? What are the symptoms?

I have change pressure sensor DENSO 6100 on Nissan X-trial 2005 It was p0089 error code now I have two p0089 and p1275

code p 0089 refers to fuel pressure regulator---performance problem===causes fuel pressure regulator---mechanical fault
code p 1275 refers to heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1--response time===causes--- HO2S--fuel pressure--injectors--intake air leak--exhaust leak--MAF sensor
as the pressure regulator ( fuel pressure) appears in both codes I would be paying attention to that unit first

07 passat code p0642 related to other codes

code p0642 refers to ECM-knock control defective or sensor reference voltage A circuit low or system voltage- malfunction===causes for ecm is ECM--- for voltage A wiring is short to positive --- for system voltage ---wiring--poor connection--battery---alternator
code p2014 refers to intake manifold air control actuator position sensor/ switch bank 1 circuit malfunction=== causes --wiring --intake manifold air control actuator position sensor/switch
code p0106 refers to manifold absolute pressure MAP sensor/barometric pressure sensor-range/performance problem===causes--intake /exhaust leak--wiring--MAP sensor---Baro sensor.
code p0089 refers to fuel pressure regulator --performance problem===causes--fuel pressure regulator--mechanical fault. I would suggest that you have the battery load tested and the alternator checked for correct output as it may be the common reason for the codes .P0089 will not be electrical as it being a mechanical fault then the regulator needs replacing

Service engine light on showing code p0089

Diagnostic trouble code P0089 - The ECM commands the Bosch high-pressure fuel pump to deliver a specific fuel rail pressure - that can vary up to 23,000 psi depending on load and speed. The actual pressure is monitored via the fuel rail pressure sensor. If the fuel rail pressure varies more than desired or if commanded fuel pump flow is 100mm3/second or less, DTC P0089 will set.

Corrective action includes measuring the fuel rail pressure using a Tech II scan tool, then compare that to commanded fuel rail pressure with the engine running at 2000 rpm. The difference must be less than 20 Mpa.

A blockage in the fuel tank or plugged fuel filter could cause this fault (excessive vacuum in fuel line). If there is less than 5 in Hg of vacuum when measured at the fuel pressure test port at 3000 rpm, the fuel pressure regulator could be defective, and may need to be replaced. The fuel pressure regulator (FPR) is a sub assembly located on the Bosch high-pressure fuel pump.
