Sounds like a bad brake light switch. It's mounted on top side of your brake pedal. Domelites are a faulty door switch. Both are fairly inexpensive repair, local parts store should have everything easily in stock.
Do all other interior lamps come on and go off when door is open and closed. Check dimmer switch to see if it is turned all the way up for interior lamps.
fuel pump.... won't shift from park unless the car starts... won't start because the fuel pump which is in the tank . it is a major repair so be be ready to spend some $$ unless you are doing it yourself, then make sure you know what you're doing!
Their is a door sensor in your door jam that turns on your lights. If you look in your door jam where information stickers are. You should see a rubber gromet about the 3/4 or a inch long. If you can push that in you have found the door sensor.
Odd are this sensor has gone bad and needs replaced.
first lets understand that every door has a sensor . and that sensor is in the door latch assembly . and over time this latch gets sticky and needs cleaned. what i have found is WD40 worked very good for me. make sure you spray a large amount into each door latch trying to wash out the dirt and dust . the go around to each door and open and shut them to work in the WD40. and then go around one more time and spray again. this will help remove any thing that has been knocked loose. then just wipe down your doors . and if the sensor isnt broken your light will work like they should. good luck paul
