Where is the crankshaft positioning/angle sensor located on a 3.1 Liter v6?

I believe you will have a crank sensor behind the main crankshaft pulley on the oil pan flange. There is also a crank angle sensor in the bottom of the distributor.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

1. Remove crankshaft position sensor (CKP sensor) (6C315).
   1. Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
   1. Remove the (A) CKP sensor shield nuts and the (B) CKP sensor shield.
   1. Remove the (C) CKP sensor bolts and the (D) CKP sensor.

Installation

1. Install crankshaft position sensor.
   1. Position the CKP sensor.
   1. Install the bolts.
   1. Position the shield.
   1. Install the shield nuts.
   1. Connect the electrical connector.

The crank posistion sensor is located on the top of the transmission bell housing right next to the motor, its a @$^&^ to get to and do without a lift,

On the 2.4 liter 4-cylinder, it's located at the front of the engine at the crankshaft,.. on the 2.7 V6, it's located on the block near the transmission on the left hand side (radiator side), .. .and on the 3.5 V6, at the front of the engine at the crank shaft.
