I have a 92 volvo 940 that the battery went dead in and when I recharged it the radio locked. What is the code to unlock the radio?

U MUST LOCK ALL DOORS and unlock with key place key in ignition switch turn on but do not start wait three minutes or until security light goes off then start

if you know the dealership it came from, give them the vin and they should be able to get it for you...otherwise you have to pull the radio out to get the #'s off of it on give the vin and the radio #'s to a volvo dealership or a volvo mechanic.

You will need to call your local Volvo dealer and provide them with your VIN number. They will look up the code and give it to you.

You may need to call multiple dealers as not all will give you the code over the phone.

Ring a major volvo dealer. If you give them your engine or chassis number they should be able to provide you with the unlock code providing the radio is the original one fitted when new. Enter code using preset station numeric buttons. Write the code on the back of your sun visor for next time

notify a dealer the radio un-loc code is part of ur security system dealer has access to the radio code- call first they can also advise on how to retrieve the radio id code which will also be needed or if have vehicle manual in it explains how to get radio id code[ number]

i had the same problem with my 1994 940 volvo

i called a dealership in town and asked nicley,gave them the vin and they looked up the code and told me. online im not sure where to look it up, but if you call its a chep fix

This could be a relay problem. (they appear to be a lot of the electrical problems with volvos.)
try twisting them gently while turning the ignition key.
You will locate them behind the ashtray, but in order to remove/replace them, you will need to remove the housing. 2 screws for the cigar lighter, and it will just 'pop off'.

There is no default code, the are unique to the radio. You will have to go to the dealer to get this code.

I'm pretty sure that you can call any Volvo dealer and get the code...talk to the service manager.

You can pay for codes online but there is no real need to.
