SOURCE: Location of the fuel filter in a 1999 Lincoln Towncar

It is either along the frame rail, probably drivers side under car follow the metal fuel line or it is in the gas tank right at the fuel pump, either requires removing tank or carpet inside trunk to get to access panel, but your problem is probably not fuel filter, with todays clean fuels fuel filters are a problem of the past, used to be a easy fix but that is why they hide them now because they are usually good for life of vehicle, 1999 is not old enough to make difference in this situtation.

You DO NOT need to remove the fuel tank to replace this filter.

My 1999 Signature Series Town Car did not require the special tool. It has two push out clips which hold the fuel lines in place. New clips came in the box with the filter. The clips are off-white in color and look like skinny versions of the plastic safety plugs moms use to keep toddlers from sticking objects into electrical outlets in your home.

The fuel filter is located just below the rear passenger side door - along the outside rail of the frame. It May or MAY NOT require the special tool.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN.

Be sure to depressurize the system by turning the off fuel pump - either by unplugging the cord in the left side of the trunk next to the hinge mount or removing the fuse (#14 20 amp in the fuse box under the hood).

It's a good idea to take a picture of the assembly before starting to refer to when you reassemble it.

Spread some shop towels or rags on the ground to catch any fuel which runs out of the filter when you remove it.

There is a hose clamp holding the filter in its housing - loosen with a screwdriver.

Pop out the two clips then pull the fuel lines out of the filter at each end.

Wiggle the filter out of its mounting bracket, then install the new filter and reinsert the fuel lines into it.

Be sure the clips are inserted correctly to avoid leaks. TIghten the hose clamp.

Replacement took about four minutes and required only a flat-blade screwdriver. Clips pop out and back in with only finger pressure.

Where is the fuel pump on a 1999 landrover discovery sd

look for power at the fuel pump connector at the fuel pump in the fuel tank (the wire that should have power when the engine is running or cranking over is White and Purple (maybe White and Pink, I can't remember). These cars also have a fuel pump inertia switch (a crash protection device, if it fails the fuel pump looses power), located passenger side rear of the engine compartment, same type used on Jaguars seen the fail, just press the button on top of the inertia switch to reset it or temporarily bridge the two wires and see if the engine now starts. Fuel pump relay is behind the right front kick panel at passenger right foot well.

2004 freelander fuel filter

The fuel filter in your 2004 Landrover Freelander is located inside the fuel pump module assembly. You must remove the fuel pump module from the vehicle and disassemble the fuel pump module to replace the filter. The fuel pump module is accessable by moving your rear seat and pulling the loadspace carpet back to get to the fuel pump access panel.

For more information on this (including diagrams) I would recommend subscribing to the service information for your vehicle for a small anual fee at alldatadiy, com

The most likely location for the pump and filter will be mounted on the body behind the rear wheel arch liner on the right hand side of the car, (driver's point of view).

1999 landrover range rover 2.5 diesel put petrol

I would start by looking for the valve on the fuel rail (or at the filter housing), if you disconnected the fuel pipe from the filter feed you will have a lot of air in the system (and diesels do not like air in the feul system) you will need to have someone crank the motor over while you push in on the schrader valve to release the air out of the system until you get fuel to flow steady out of that port (this may take a short period of time), then you should be able to start the vehicle... would also recommend replacing the fuel filter as well. Hope this helps.
