I have a 2000 Chevy tahoe and 1997 Chevy 1 ton they both quit on the same day. No check engine light came on I have replaced the distributor cap the rotor and the ignition module on both vehicles I've also tested the fuel relay with a paper clip the fuel pumps run, both vehicles backfire like they are out of time, you can smell fule backfire through the intake. What else can I replace?

The ignition coils are also very common on these. i see you replaced alot but not these. if you hear the fuel pump and smell fuel then the most likely cause with the parts you replaced is the coil. let me know if you have more questions

My 97 tahoe only running on 6 cylinders

If compression test is good is either no spark, bad coil or wire, or no fuel, bad fuel injector. Need to clarify which is not functioning properly.

Start with fuel system. Listen for fuel pump humm at fuel tank No humm check wiring to pump for power. Then check for spark at plugs and wires. Remove wire from coil and hold near engine and see arch when you crank. No arch. Replace ignition Modular inside distributor cap or cap or rotor

97 chev tahoe service engine light is on and it wont start

P0300 is random multiple misfire. If its been more then 3years since the last tune-up, do one. Usually it is caused by debris inside the distributor cap but could also be plugs wires, fuel and air filter.

97 chevy tahoe service engine light blinks and idles rough

The light is flashing because the engine is miss firing. The first thing I would try is replacing the distributor cap and rotor.

1997 Chevy Tahoe Moisture in the distributor Cap

I have the same problem. I punched the screens all the way though that are down in the distributor. This did not correct the problem but it did slow it down. Now I only have to change the cap ever few months. I don't leave home without a spare cap.

Engine stalls without warning

check engine light comes on after driving any given amount of time. Replaced egnition modual didn't work, replaced pcv valve, didn't work, replaced stater module, didn't work, replaced the fuel filter, didn't work. Took it in for diagnostics and was told that it is either the egnition module, computer, or the wires that are attached to the computer that go out to different parts in the engine.
