When you mean "Burn", are you referring to the light bulb lighting up, or "Burning Out"?

The problem is with the bulb, what is happening is when you push your brake pedal with the lights off you are turning on you parking light side of you bulb, when the lights are on the parking light is already lit up so when you push the pedal you see no change. try a new bulb

Where is brake light switch 2001 grand cherokee

Usually, the brake light switch sits just behind the brake pedal. There should be a bracket with two-four bolts that hold it in. There will be a button the is depressed when the brakes are lightly pressed.

2001 Grand Cherokee Limited- Driver side rear brake light does not work if tail lights are on. When you step on brake tail light also goes out. With lights off everything works ok.

Very common issue is the lamp assembly (dealer item). They are very bad to ground back through the tail lamp filament, lights on the path has voltage on it and the lamp will not work.

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee and the brake lights wont work

there's a possibility that it might be the socket that the bulb actually goes into. my break light did something similar to that. the socket only cost about 8 bucks from the dealer.

1993 jeep grand cherokee limited no running lights/tail lights.

Id look at the headlight switch and do some voltage tests to see whats coming out of there. Pay close attention to any wires which look like someone was in there already.People can mess stuff up faster and better than the vehicle can by itself!
