The brake light on my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited when the lights are turned off , theleft brake light will burn when the pedal is pushed. However, when the lights are turnedon the left brake light does not burn. The right brake light does burn. The right brake light does burn when the brakeis pushed whether the lights are on or not.Could the problem be the brake switch?
Start but wont stay running
The problem is with the bulb, what is happening is when you push your brake pedal with the lights off you are turning on you parking light side of you bulb, when the lights are on the parking light is already lit up so when you push the pedal you see no change. try a new bulb

Yes burn referrs to lighting up.
I would like to thank you. I tried a new bulb and it works. You have helped me more than I can express.
When you mean "Burn", are you referring to the light bulb lighting up, or "Burning Out"?
