What oil is suggested for my 2000 tahoe 4.8 vortec engine?

Depends on the type of engine and computer. You will have to do some homework. I put a 95 Tahoe engine in a 96 Tahoe; you wouldn't think there would be much of a difference but there is. The 96 was a Vortec engine and the 95 was not so I had to change the computer and entire wiring harness over with the engine into the 96. So with that much of a gap in years you may have some issues.

If you did not have crankshaft replaced or reground then the rod bearings will wear quite fast and lose oil pressure.

Most of the time when you run a fuel system cleaner in a engine that has not had a cleaning the sludge will clog the fuel filter. I would check the fuel filter before anything and if that is good, I recommend running a complete test on the vacuum lines sometimes if there is a leak in a vacumn line it will mess with the timing advance and cause the vehicle to behave different at certain RPM ranges

you may have a problem with the oil pressure relief valve

Oil pressure sensor is located in the valley of engine behind intake.at back of engine you can get it out with a thin walled oil sender socket. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

this is a comon problem on chevy 00-06 models a computer ground ,it seems ok at sight but inside it's just holding a few wires ,get under the car on the driver side passenger there you should find a two ground wire goin to the block a big, and a small ,the small one gets coroded try to fix it and let me know how it goes ok.

There is no distributor. Firing is controlled by the computer which gets signals from crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor for firing and timing.

Do you have any engines codes like P 0300. Sounds like ignition coils ,check input wires to coils if okay replace both coils.I have seen this few times

you have to remove the cover over the torque converter 4 bolts holds this on .you may be able to just move it out of the way. and yes it does sound like a starter problem.i hope this helps
