I have a 1990 4 cyl jeep wrangler i just filled tank with gas, drove 1 block and jeep stalled. Jeep starts right back up but will not stay running, seems as though its not getting enough gas. Is this a fuel pump problem? Is the fuel pump always inside the fuel tank for 1990 4 cyl and would it come inside if i ordered a new one?

It could be the pump but you need to verify if you can hear the pump running after it stalls and you turn the key back on to try and start it. If you don't hear it it isn't running.
The pump is inside the tank but it dosen't come inside, you need to put it in there. That requires removing the tank. On a 90, there is a filter mounted on the chassis near the left rear tire. I'd replace that first as if you replace the pump, that should be replaced as well and if it's plugged up it may in fact be the only problem.

88 wrangler stalling 5 speed 4 cyl

Was there any water in the tank? Has anyone changed the fuel filter? Has anyone checked the ceramic ballast resistor on the drivers fender near the master cylinder?
Has anyone checked the crank sensor output? Did anyone see if it will run if you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body after starting? Are there pulses present at injector? You need to verify these things to get some idea what is going on there.

1998 jeep wrangler starting issues

Hi Dava224 i had the same problem with my 1989 CJ. when it was cold out i would pump the gas pedal 3-4 times before turning the ignition. it puts a small amount of fuel in the motor without stalling it out. it wont start as hard. another good idea is to keep some fuel stabalizer in the tank everytime you fill up. hope this helps

92 Jeep Wrangler will not Stay running.

I had the same prblm with my 1989 Jeep, 6 cyl straight, and it was because of the EGR valve, easy to replace and not too costly. EGR valve is screwed on the motor, driver side, and there is a ±1/2" rubber hose attached. Easy to see if device comes apart, cut by rust.

Check engine light/rough acceleration

Dear atomicboy488,

A lot of Rain=Possible Water in the Gas=Erratic Running!
This sounds like it may be as simple as cleaning the water or gunk out of the gas tank which is what I always do 1st because it's easy and inexpensive.
If your fuel is contaminated with gunk, grime, WATER and/or bottom junk like rust this will cause stalling AND ROUGH ACCELERATION!
Try spraying a can of starter fluid in the air intake and see if it runs! If it does, it's most likely bad fuel or clogged injectors so....
Fill the tank with High Test, Add some DRYGAS and a good fuel system cleaner or 2 or 3 and this should dissolve all the gunk and clean the injectors! Read & follow the cans' instruction carefully.
If this cures the problem never let your gas tank get below 1/4 and especially never run it to empty as this is when the gunk and/or water will enter the system!
Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

98 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4X2 suddenly dies .....

It sounds like you have some **** in the gas tank that is being drawn to the pickup blocking it.
Have seen this and because it seems so random, it can drive ya nuts.

You might carry a coffee can with you and pull the line from the fuel rail when this happens stick it in the can and just have someone turn the key on for a few seconds.
Beware though, it comes out with force.

Also possible is a failed fuel pressure regulator.
Those aren't expensive and . . . well, not very good either.
