Installed new battery in 2002 ford explorer and still wont start.Lights and radio work but will not turn over..No clicking noise or anything..Had someone look at it and they think the starter isnt getting power..Bad wire or maybe bad starter?
Try by passing the starter solenoid on the fender if you get it to move you know it needs to be replaced. how ever it could also be the safety neutral switch. To find the solenoid follow the positive battery cable wire till you come to the solenoid you will see the large battery wire one from the battery the other side going to the starter. Look on the small terminals for the marking S and apply 12 volts fused to the S terminal if the starter cranks you found your problem, if not get back to me to get help.
Be sure to test the lights and starter by turning on head lights and turning key to start postion see if the head lights dim sligtly if not it is a wiring problem. Including dirty battery terminals.
