97 olds cutlass supreme 4 dr brake lights won't work at all now & abs ? brake light on (almost always), where working sometime, replaced brake light switch under dash. Is there another relay switch between there and the brake lights ? Is it grounded properly & where is the ground wire ? Does it have a computer module that needs to be checked ?

SOURCE: 1995 cutlass supreme transmission

It physically will fit and bolt up,but there are many different ratio, and drive and driven sprocket tooth counts, different final drive ratios, all monitored by the computer with electronic speed sensors. If the trans from the 95 has a different ratio than the 93,the computer will set gear ratio error codes, and possibly put the trans in a failsafe mode, stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear.On the transmission case, down by where the passenger side axle would go in,is a thin metallic tag, maybe 2"x 3",and it has bar codes, and also a series of numbers and letters. The numbers and letters, large cap,are the final drive gear ratio code. They should match on the two transmissions in question.

SOURCE: 95 OLDSMOBILE CUTLESS SL-NO BRAKE

there is only one way to fix this if your hazards are working then this means you have to take apart the steering column. Replace a switch in the steering column that is connected to your turn signal.i found out that temporarily if you have no tail lights you can wiggle the turn signal and they come on from time to time.

I have a 1997 olds cutlass supreme and have no brk lites

sounds like a bad or loose ground wire, it would be located in the trunk near the tail light assembly, the other switch is for the cruise contro, it's what cuts the cruise when you hit the brakes.

95 olds cutlass supreme sl with 3.1 6 cyl. ABS and Brake light stays on. Brake pedal is hard to push but front brakes work. Back brakes don't work at all. Took the brake lines off at the rear caliper and...

you may have a ABS problem. I would drive it and attemp to skid the tires an dsee if the pump activates. sometimes this will unstick any valves inside the ABS unit. you may need to have a qualified repair shop check deeper. the ABS will have a code, and a scanner will be needed to check further.

No brake lights and abs light is on in the dash lights on a 1994 olds cutlass supreme...checked bulbs, fuses and changed the brake switch...none of that worked...all the other lights work fine...can not...

Change your turn signal switch in the steering column 99% sure that is your problem you can some times check by holding the brake pedal down and wiggling the the switch around and have someone watch to see if the come on

Car won't start!!! & ABS Light on

Sounds like carbon build up on the contacts inside the electrical ignition switch which is not the key cylinder. Its located on the lower steering coluum if coluum shift or if you have a floor shift it will be inside the console

Abs light is on

youre car needs to have an abs diagnostic work up done on it to get a trouble code and to go futher with a repair. on a cutlass the brakes will feel fine with the abs light on but they will not divert brake pressure in the event of a panic stop thus causing a wheel to skid.
good luck. chris
