Speedodmeter not working on 1999 Kia Sportage

My speedometer stopped working. I was told I needed a speed sensor and after replacing it, it still doesn't work. The fuse is fine and everything else on my instrument panel is working. Thank you in advance for any advice!

Kia sportage speedometer stopped working

The signal to your speedometer comes from the transmission cover. When they changed the clutch they probably had to unplug the speed sensor.
Hope this helps.

99 buick century speedodmeter won't work and the transmission dosen't shift

The transmission speed sensor mounts in the side of the transmission. It has a wiring harness plug and is held in with a bolt and bracket.
What did you replace ??

2001 sportage kia--- just got motor job 2months ago...ac has stopped working...and rpm gauge doesnt work and is pulling hard....Is there a fuse that could have blowed and needs replacing? retta smith

The speedometer and rpm gauges are operated by sensors instead of cables on your model. It is very possible that either your sensors are not hooked up to your tranny or that they are in need of replacing. Check all fuses.

2001 kia sportage speedodmeter doesn't work

assuming the instrument cluster is ok check the output shaft sensor on the transmission. It sends the signal for speed of output shaft which is translated into mph.

Speedometer/odometer not working 2000 kia sportage

Your Vehicle velocity sensor has gone bad or the wire harness has gone bad. Check the wire harness first and if that is good, then replace the sensor. You can find the sensor on the transmission out put shaft on the drivers side. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.
