The maintinance req light flashes ten times when I turn the key to the on position 2001 honda civic

battery low on keyfob ? as it cant be anything with antitheft or it wouldn't let you drive it away

this done thru the key and dash turn key to position one and push and hold trip button down until beeps or light flashes 10 times then turn key to position 2 release button. procedure is in owners manuel.

if you are not talking about the check engine light but the actuall maint. light for oil change due you should be able to push and hold the trip button on the dash turn the key to the on position untill light goes out or flashes then start vehicle

the maint. required light is for oil changes there are about 4 different ways that honda has to reset these and it deoends on the vehicle. So try these. Push in the trip reset button and hold it down while turning the key to the ON position(no start) hold it down till the light goes out. If there are two buttons on the left side of the dash that say SEL and TRIP turn key to ON then hold both buttons at same time, when light flashes let go and hold both down again till light goes out. If these don't work, youre owners manual will say or take it to your local oil change place, they should know how to reset it also
