Yes they are. if your hazard flasher is bad and you happen to have the hazard switch turned on your brake lights wont work
put hazard switch in one position and check brake lights
then put in other position and check them
if they work with the hazard switch in one position leave switch olone and check fuses and put a new flasher for hazard in

2005 Ford Focus- Blinkers, Brake lights and hazards don't work -just change the bulbs and they still don't work. Help!

That should be on two different fuses, but everything goes thru the turn signal switch.
The switch might be faulty. A mechanic would check for voltage there.

Tail lights stopped working (keeps blowing fuse)

you could either have a front marker/signal lamp w/lamp grounded and causing this,remember...when tail lights are on so are your frt parking/marker lights on also..... other than that you could have a feed wire worn thru and grounding out to the frame

2000 Dodge Ram - No hazard flashers

Possibly blew out the hazard flasher unit. Check the flasher unit (usually there are 2, one for directionals and one for flashers).
