Is there anything I could do to bring my RPM's down when Im driving in hwy. I have a 96 t100 4x4 stick, stock. At 70mph rpm is at 3300. I changed to manual hubs and that helps a little.

Tire diameter can effect your RPM's. I would need to know your final drive ratio to tell you which size tire would do best. Bigger tires will bring your Cruising speed down but also your performance. Here is the formulas you can use to figure it out.

RPM = mph x gear ratio x 366
--------------------------------- OR
tire diameter

tire diameter = mph x gear ratio x 366
------------------------------------
rpm
Plug in the numbers you have and the numbers you'd like to have. Then you can decide what is possible. Changing tire sizes will effect your speedometer reading also. Larger tires will cause the speedometer to show a slower than actual speed. Good Luck

If you change the tire size it won't be a dramatic difference. Probably only a few hundred rpm's at most per one inch increase. On a four wheel drive truck you must change both front and rear axle gears together if you decide to take that option. It can be an expensive endevor changing gears. I personally don't recomend it.

    Good Luck.

The only way to accomplish that is to change the axle gear ratio. Trucks are generally geared for hauling, towing, plowing, etc, so you have more torque and power at lower speeds. If you change the axle ratio, your low end performance will probably suffer (sluggish acceleration at low speed). Basically, your T100 is not designed for 70mph highway driving.

I have an 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee v6 2x2 with 170k... I'm having a couple of issues... 1. Occasionally will have trouble with cycling through gears when getting on Hwy causing decreased, sluggish...

I would consider changing the vehicle speed sensor. When they go bad, they can really throw out a lot of bad data to the computer, resulting in unexpected behavior like you're experiencing. They're only around $20-$25. I hope this helps! :)

Was sitting in traffic for 15 minuets-temp good----drove down the hwy and went to H but not in red....water when i got home is at cold fill line

Check coolant level may be low causing gauge to read up and down. If level is low it can read low when not touching the coolant temp sensor at low rpm, then when rpm increases coolant rushes up to the sensor making it read hot. If level is good than you may have had the thermostat stuck for a bit and should be replaced before it sticks for good.

Is it normal for my 91 miata reads 3900 rpms going 70mph?

It is pretty close, but doing the math....
3900 rpms 5th gear .814 diff gear 4.3 tire rpm = 1114
stock 91 tire size is 185/60-14 circumference = 71.31 inches inches/min=79457 mi/min=1.254 mi/hr=75.23
Completely stock, 3900 rpm gives you 75 mph. not the 70 you were claiming, but you could have smaller then stock tires (one inch less of diameter gives you 72 mph at 3900).
Hope this helps, Lars

91 Toyota MR2 automatic transmission when i full stop sometimes i step on gas RPM goes up but it feels like it`s still in neutral, i have to down shift before moving again. I can`t find what`s wrong.

i have somewhat of the same problem! when im driving my transmission sounds like it sticks in 2nd gear or something. and ill be driving down the hwy and in either goes into neutral or into a lower gear so my rpms go way up! like im revving it. but when i unhook the battery for a few minutes it seems to fix it for a while...any clue whats going on?

If you can hear the fuel pump cut in, try the mass air flow sensor. MAF.

4000 rpm at 70 miles per hour

You should have another gear "5th" at 70mph your tacho should read about 2500 rpm.
Make sure you don't need to depress something or push the gear stick against a spring to select 5th.
Is there a gear layout on top of the gearstick knob, do you have 5th gear on there?
The highest gear ratio is a little over 1 to 1 so at 70 mph you would expect 3500 rpm, but, it is a little over 1 to 1 so it will be closer to 2500rpm.
