OD means Over Drive. It's an automatic transmission right? There is a button someplace to reengage OD. Now as of the service vehicle note, could simplely be time to change oil or could be something wrong with tranni. I can't tell you without looking at the truck.

My 2003 buick century custom has dashboard lights on--how to reset Service Vehicle Soon, Trak light off, Abs light?

You need to have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes to see what the problem is ,then diagnosed , then fixed ! Then the light's will go off ! This means taking it to a qualified repair shop .
SERVICE VEHICLE SOON
The IPC illuminates the SERVICE VEHICLE SOON message in the DIC when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects certain malfunctions that are not related to the emissions system. The IPC receives a class 2 message requesting illumination from the PCM.

What does it mean when my 2008 trailblazer LT stabilitrac service light comes on?

Service Stability System Message The message center displays the service stability system message when any one of many VSES-disabling DTCs is set. The EBCM sends a serial data message to the IPC requesting this display.
It means there is a problem an till you get it fixed the stability control system is disabled ! ( EBCM ) electronic brake control module Has detected a problem an set a DTC - diagnostic trouble code in it's memory an had the message displayed !
Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES)
The vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) provides added stability during aggressive maneuvers. Yaw rate is the rate of rotation about the vehicle's vertical axis. The VSES is activated when the electronic brake control module (EBCM) determines that the desired yaw rate does not match the actual yaw rate as measured by the yaw rate sensor.
The desired yaw rate is calculated by the EBCM using, primarily, the following inputs.
?€¢
The position of the steering wheel

?€¢
The speed of the vehicle

?€¢
The lateral, or sideways acceleration of the vehicle

The difference between the desired yaw rate and the actual yaw rate is the yaw rate error, which is a measurement of oversteer or understeer. When a yaw rate error is detected, the EBCM attempts to correct the vehicle's yaw motion by applying brake pressure to one or more of the wheels. The amount of brake pressure which is applied varies, depending on the correction required. The engine torque may be reduced also, if it is necessary to slow the vehicle while maintaining stability.
VSES activations generally occur in turns during aggressive driving. When braking during VSES activation, the pedal may pulsate. The brake pedal pulsates at a higher frequency during VSES activation than during ABS activation.

What does serv mean when I start my engin and keep getting a message on dash

Your vehicle requires to go to a service center and have the computer reset, it is just a service interval reminder warning usually based on your mileage and nothing to be alarmed about in most cases..

The "service charging system" message

Hello,

" service charging system ", means you have an issue with your battery, your alternator, or
your voltage regulator. Something is causing your battery not to charge properly. You should
have it checked as soon as possible. This could keep your vehicle from starting next time.

I hope this helps you.

What does service stabletrak mean?

{: ) If you ever see the SERVICE STABILITRAK message, it means there may be a problem with your StabiliTrak® system. If you see this message, try to reset the system by performing the following: stop; turn off the engine; then start the engine again. If the SERVICE STABILITRAK message still comes on, it means there is a problem. You should see your GM dealer for service. The vehicle is safe to drive, however, you do not have the benefit of StabiliTrak®, so reduce your speed and drive accordingly. Press the select button to acknowledge this message and clear it from the DIC display

"o/d off" message- what does it mean? Also, the "Service vehicle" note is showing

Your truck may be making limited power...which would make the computer disable overdrive to protect the engine.

Get your cars trouble codes read at a local parts store *(usually free)
and see what sensors are indicating problems.

Then you can decide on fixing it yourself or if a mechanic is needed.

Good luck and be careful.

How do you re-set the oil change trip meter after an oil change

NOTE: These instructions apply to vehicles that are currently due a scheduled service. Manual resetting of the service interval indicator may not be possible if the time or distance covered is outside the programmed parameters of the vehicle. In this case, it may be necessary to use manufacturer's or equivalent diagnostic equipment. Switch ignition OFF. Press and hold button [A] 28517. Turn ignition key to position I. After 5 seconds the words "OIL SERVICE" or "INSPECTION" are shown together with the message "reset" or "re". Release button [A]. Press and hold button [A]. After a further 5 seconds the message "reset" starts to flash. Release button [A]. Press and release button [A] again. The new service interval is now displayed. Press and release button [A]. The message "END SIA" is now displayed. Switch ignition OFF. BUTTON A IS TRIP BUTTON.

Car requesting oil even after being filled up.

This message does not mean the engine is low on oil, it means the oil change is due. if you have added oil, it may mean it is now overfilled. This could cause as much damage as low oil, VW have a system on the vehicle that tells you when the vehicle requires servicing, the next message should be inspection 1. these are the VW service schedules. They are worked out on mileage and the way the vehicle is driven. Take the vehicle to your local decent repair shop and get the oil and filter replaced, and remind them to reset the service indicator. After this all will be well.
