My dash panel lights do not work and my rear lights don't work. Both stopped working at the same time. 1992 jeep cherokee. Is it a fuse? Which one? Where are the fuses?

The dash lights are on the same circuit as the tail lights. This was done so the operator of the vehicle would know the rear lights were not functioning. Almost all of the time the problem is only a faulty fuse. Replace the fuse and if this becomes frequent check the wiring going to the rear lights for a short.

the easy way would be to check the bulbs elements if 1 of them is burnt all u have to do is replace it.then check the brake switch which is under the steering column u cant miss it the brake peddle rests against it when not being pressed down, which is how it works too.also check all the fuses.if all else fails start checking wires.

Dash and shifter lights in 1996 jeep cherokee wont light

Hello and welcome to FixYa . Locate the dial that controls the brightness of the dashboardlights. If the control is not immediately evident. Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problem may be a bad fuse. Check the fuse that controls the dashboard lights Replace the fuse if necessary. If just one part of the instrument panel is not lighting up, then you have either a burned-out bulb or a wiring problem.
