A bad coolant sensor not a serious problem that can cause engine damage. but it will make it run real bad ,use alot of fuel ,hard start, ruin your cat converter, etc.they arent that expensive and are easy to put in.
think of your coolant sensor like your choke.it tells the computer how warm/cold the engine is and then compuer when it thinks cold gives more gas or hot and gives less gas.if comuter dont know temp of engine it has to guess and they are always wrong.
coolant sensor bad computer has no way of knowing engine temp

Have 2005 honda accord 2.4 showed 1009 code changed sensor now car won't idle and sounnds really bad. disconnect sensor noise goes away but still won't idle

There are several possible causes and the one that you should check first is the service bulletin on the issue. There is a software update for that car, the dealer has to perform it though. You can call a dealer and ask how much it costs and give them the VIN to see if it has been done before. If it has been done then you need to check a whole host of things that might be causing that:
  • Engine oil level
  • Dirty engine oil
  • Check VTC Strainer for blockage
  • Faulty VTC Oil Control Solenoid or circuit
  • Faulty VTC Actuator
  • Engine mechanical problems
The last one is the timing chain and tensioner.

I have Honda Accord the engine light is on and rune no more then 3500rpm

If it is a safety feature on your car, then its there to prevent you from revving above a certain RPM and blowing your engine before it can properly warm up for higher speed. Or...
It is the indication light that indicates there is a sensor not responding which will retard the performance of your car(power,fuel,heating,cooling,...) You can do a diagnostic test at Honda or you can try and trace the sensor yourself.1.check to see that none of the sensor plugs are not loose. 2. When your car does it again, remove the sensor plugs one at a time(remember to replace them if it changes the performance of the engine/car at that stage as it is not that sensor that is faulty) continue testing the sensors till the plug you pull out has no effect to the car and that is most probably the faulty sensor. Good luck

1993 honda accord stalls when put in gear

First items to check: Fuel Pressure, Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, intake sensors (MAP/MAF & IAC valve) Remember the simplest fix is usually the right fix....it sounds to me that the engine is starving either for air, fuel or spark. My guess would be fuel. That is a fairly simple engine to repair, there is not much to it. Good Luck!!

My honda accord 1993 start the ligth abs sensor speed

Anytime the abs light is on it will disable the abs system. What you need to do is jump the 2 pin blue connector under right side of dash with a paper clip.Turn ignition switch on and count the blinks of the abs light. Most likely is a damaged or shorted abs wheel speed sensor which is most common. Here what the connector looks like that you need to jump....

If your ABS light tunr on, is telling you there is an issue with the abs pump itself. It could be possibly failing or just air bound but theses are known to leak .You need to check the pump next.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day

Your computer relies upon the temp sender to tell it when it should switch from cold to hot mode. If it gets faulty information to begin with, nothing else in the fuel/timing management system will work properly which can cause hard starting, poor fuel mileage and overall poor running.
The results long term of not fixing the problem can range from just having an engine that never runs correctly to one with severe and expensive failures. Replace the sender!!! They are relatively inexpensive and not terribly difficult to replace.

1993 honda accord engine service light is on and Shift drive D4

If the drive light flashes there COULD be a trans problem. The Ck Engine light and the D4 light are on for the same reason. Take it to a qualified repair shop to have it checked out. Find a shop that regularly works on HONDA and not some chain store operation.

Failed emission NOx on a 93 Honda accord ex its papes the 25/25 test but not the 50/50 test. what is wrong how do I fix this? check engine light stays on?

The only thing I can think of checking would be the EGR valve, a faulty cat converter or faulty o2 sensor. Converter shouldn't set off check engine light though unless it is clogged causing too much back pressure, most likely EGR Valve.

Flashing green s on the dash

A green flashing "S" is similar to a check engine light. It is telling you that something in or on your transmission is not functioning correctly, such as the speed sensor or shift control solenoids. If it starts flashing and the speedometer stops working or the transmission shifts weird, take it to a mechanic.
