I just replaced the passenger side on mine and this is what i did.

1. on the back side of the mirror housing is a half moon shaped plastic piece. gently remove that from the housing, exposing a portion of the back side of the mirror.

2. disconnect the two wires (remember rt and lf). carefully, with a pry tool, apply pressure on the center of the back side of the mirror, it will pop loose.

3. once the mirror is off there should be a round plastic piece attached to the back side of the mirror. on the passenger side there is a tab in the upper left side. lift up on the tab and slide the plastic piece down...it should slide off.

4. once you have the plastic piece off it goes on the back of the new mirror in the opposite way. you line up the four cross tabs and slide the mirror up until the tab grabs it.

5. put the mirror back in the housing by lining the circle (on back side center of mirror plate) with the center of the mirror housing. genlty apply pressure on the center of the mirror (i had to hit it firmly with the palm of my hand) unitl it snaps into place.

6. once it snaps into place you can reconnect the two wires to the back of the mirror and install the back side plastic housing......DONE

Replace drivers side mirror 2001 chevy tahoe, mirror only

To just replace the mirror glass there are a few different styles, but they all pull off. I suggest you wear gloves and glasses. Get a grip behing the glass and pull out. You should see a round circular bracket in the center. The new mirror just snaps into the bracket. Center new mirror and push evenly in the center of glass until it snaps into place. Dont push in by holding the edges, you'll break it. If you don't see the circle or it comes off with the glass it was too damaged for just glass. Power or manual mirros differ inside, but the mirror replacement is the same. If you mean the entire mirror only, remove door panel. Lower window, remove electrical connector if power, remove 3 bolts attaching mirror to door. Remove.

Anyone know where to find replacement covers for a 2007 Tahoe LTZ? I can find the upper half but would like to avoid buying the ENTIRE mirror to get the lower half. Some ding dong stole the fronts of both...

You can try the Salvage Yard, Most of the time they are damaged. But if you just need the parts for the mirror, there is a good chance you'll find the covers your looking for around $5.00. If you can not find on, just ask the person to log you on the lookout for the part. When a truck like yours os another GM truck comes in with the same mirrors you have, they can inform you and you'll just have to go and pick it up or pull it off the truck in the yard. Good luck and hope this helps.

How do you replacement the rear view mirror on a 2007 chevy tahoe?

If the mount is still on the glass, loosen the set screw that holds the mirror to it and slide it off. If the mount fell off the windshield, you can get special glue to re-attach it at any parts store for around $10.00 Key to replacing it is to mark the correct position on the outside of the glass with a crayon and to make sure the windshield is very clean where you are re-attaching. follow the package instructions exactly and make sure you hold the mount in place without sliding it around, till it has adhered. Don't hang the mirror for at least twelve hours. While the mirror is removed, lube the pivot joints so it will adjust easily to avoid pulling it off the windshield again.
