Tip of key has broken off in ignition barrel of 1994 Land Rover Discovery. How do I get it out or how do I change the whole ignition barrel. Thanks
Not saying it is landrover barrel but best way is get your new barrel and that should tell you how it is fitted normally a spring loaded pin holds barrel in socket

Yeah, def sounds like a lock cyl problem. On many cars, you rotate the key to the 'On' position, and there is a certain pin that you can press in with an awl or small screwdriver, and it allows the lock cylinder to be pulled out. This is typical of GM vehicles, Volvo may be similar. The pin might be somewhere behind that plastic plug you were talking about. Good Luck!

it is better to buy a new ignition barrel.it takes a special socket to get the screws out, once the screws are out they do not need to be replaced.buy new barrel, disconnect negative battery cable, disconnect wires from barrel assembly, remove barrel from colum. first take vin# to dealership parts department to get correct barrel assembly, the keys with new assembly will fit doors and trunk
Should be the same as w123 model. Check diy Mercedes web page.
Photos included easy to do.

The sensor is not in your key. It is in the Key Fob, unless your car is not equipped with keyless entry. If there is no key fob than your car is not equipped with vehicle immobilization.
