My 99 Ford Taurus was running just fine. then the next morning I went to start it & it is dead. tried to jump it & that didn't work. headlights, radio, etc. will turn on but the battery light is on.
The battery light is on due to the engine not starting. there are too many things that could go wrong to diagnose without more info. does the it crank but won't start or does it not crank at all?
Testimonial: "Thanks for your help. It was the starter & we got it replaced for the 2nd time. Thanks again!!"
does your starter make a clicking sound when you turn the key? if it does, than i would suspect the starter or connections. make sure battery terminals are clean and tight. if not, check fuses. also, fords normally have a starter relay coming off of the positive battery cable. there are also cables with in line protection called fusible links. go to autozone.com and enter your car. you can view wiring diagrams. look under repair guides

Doesn't crank at all. Someone suggested checking the starter connection.
