My 2000 Honda Odyssey EX has intermittent start problems. At least once a week it will not start without being jumped with a portable jumping system; sometimes turning the key to ignition for about 30 seconds works. Battery is brand new; I had the Honda dealer run a complete starting system diagnostic (twice now!) and test, and they can't find anything wrong. Alternator and Starter tested fine. What could be wrong?

Probably when the dealer is testing it is fine because the problem is intermittent. There may be a dead spot in the starter so when it hits that spot it acts up but other times its not on that spot its fine. Replace your starter and you will probably get rid of the problem.

I just acquired a 1996 Odyssey with a starting problem. It will take a jump right away but after driving it and turning off the engine it will not start. The previous owner had the alternator checked and...

doble check the alternator... take it to a different shop or mechanic, check the battery, maybe the battery is dead or it does not storing energy... if it not solve the problem, check for grounded wires, cables....

Odyssey battery problem?

You need to remove the battery cables and clean the connections with a wire battery terminal cleaning tool. Then start the car and check the voltage at the battery with a multimeter. It should be between 13.5-16 volts. Any less and the alternator is defective. If this all checks out and you are 100% sure nothing is on drawing power then the battery more than likely has a dead cell. Remove the battery and take it to your parts store and have it tested. You will probably need a new battery.

Changing a battery on a 2003 honda odyssey

no. removing the battery or disconnecting it will only reset any "service engine" lights or other warning lights that may be on.

P0740 code showing in my 2000 Honda Odyssey

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction
The problem could be the torque converter itself or the sensor circuit for the clutch.
Best to have a Transmission Expert look at it to see if any further damage has occurred.
