SOURCE: water pump replacement 96 isuzu rodeo

Remove belt, fan, fan shroud and fan bracket. Remove timing covers, timing belt and water pump. Replace timing belt and the hydraulic tensioner with new ones. I suggest you get a mechanic to do this as you can easly get it out of time. Not an easy job.

3.2 liter engine 1996 Iszuzu Rodeo water pump leaks underneath

  • If your water pump is leaking from below then it's leaking through the weep hole. Time to replace the water pump. Should be up front behind the fan clutch.

Is it necessary to take the timming belt off to replace the water pump on a 1996 isuzu rodeo

3.2L engine, you will have to remove timing belt to replace water pump, your water pump is timing belt driven, I would replace timing belt while in there, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

My sincere apologies for the severly delayed response.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered questions. I have only been on this site for the past 4-months as a free contributor.

I do not know if you still need this information, however I am answering it in case you still do.

Click on the following direct Link. It has several Diagrams for your 1998 Isuzu RodeoTiming Belt. Included are step-by-step reagrding how to tighten it. There are also Photo's.

As far as how to install: It would take literally dozens and dozens of Pages using this type of forum on the Step-by-Step Procedures on Installion and Putting back the Engine together; including Torque Specifications of all Bolts and Nuts. I would strongly suggest purchasing a Haynes or Chilton's Manual, available at most auto parts store for $20-$25. They have the complete guidelines, diagrams, and phots you will need.

Again my apologies...
