I am living in The Republic of Palau and I have a 1993 940 SE volvo that I bought in Japan, but was manufactured in Sweden. Where would be the best place for me to get parts? The stearing wheel is on the right side of the car if that makes a difference.

We'll it could b a fuse that's were I'd start if you need to know the location of the fuse panel just grab your owners manual it should b in the glove box sounds like a really nice car volvo s80 solid built car from Sweden hand built one of the safest cars on the road if the manual is missing let me know I'll find u one that u can view online thanx for your question look forward to hearing from u Chris

your volvo has two pumps one in the fuel tank and one under the car if your car runns good from full tank to about half it is probbely the pump in the tank that is the problem if the car tend to missfire and run poorly. good luck Hans from sweden the home of the mighty volvo

Thought I would give you a few comments as an owner of two 1993 Volvo 960s, one in Texas (summer car) and one in Sweden where I live.
My Texas 960 thumps as I accelerate. It can be the center drive shaft bearing that sits in a rubber holder. You can check it by putting your car on a lift and grab hold of this center joint and see if it is loose.

Or the noise can come from the front exhaust pipe vibrating and hitting the frame (symtom). Can be that the motor mounts are weak and worn out (problem). Best check is to put the car on a lift and have someone start the engine and check to see how much the engine vibrates. Look for scuff marks on the exhaust and frame. I will do the same on my 960 and will report back.

Remember this, 70-80% of the faults you can see or feel. Bad contacts due to corrision or just loose connections are very common.

Any auto parts store they can look up the part number or buy replacements online through Auto Zone.

the United states will do the samething. the volvo dealer here would need registration and proof of ownership first to cut or reprogram and key. they need the vin number. i would suggest maybe next time in florida, you can do this.
