Can't open the hatch to the gas tank on an Audi A4 loaner. I think it's an 09. Dealership told me to press on the cover, and I can't make it open no matter what I do. I've pressed and pushed on both sides, top, bottom, center, side to side, up and down, pressed and held, pressed quickly, etc. Any ideas?

Order a new keyfob from the dealer and have them program it to your car.

InInside the drivers door in the back of the storage compartment is the switch to open the fuel door.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Try going through the trunk. There might be a cord or an access port that you may be able to find to get through. It should be on the same side as the gas tank port/gas cap. If your manual gas tank opener is not working, you might be able to get a hold of the cable and pull it. There is a cable that opens it.

My daughter's car does the exactly the same thing. Have had it in 4 times no luck. They say water in the gas and charge me for this and that. I Don't think the gas diagnosis is correct. We buy gas for 4 vehicles at the same place with no problems and 2 of the 4 are Kia's.

Before anything you have to make sure the lever in the trunck is in the correct position. Assuming it is...

...does the top start to open or it doens't even move? Does the hatch where the top goes into start to open? If so, stop the top after you see that the hatch has completely opened, then manually push that piece down. Be carefull not to get stuck and make sure nobody is operating the top while you're attempting this so you don't get your arm stuck there for any reason.

You could also try to access it from the truck and pull it down manually. I may just snap back into place and the problem will go away. On my car, one of the sides was stuck UP and the other was working. Once it snapped back into place it works every time.

I think, I don´t understand your question ;)

The fuel tank is locked automatically when you lock the car. The cover has it´s own locking module conneced to the central locking. If it does not lock, the module should be checked for damage.

make sure the doors are unlocked. when the doors are locked it locks the gas hatch too

I can't promise it, but in my 99 A4 there is a release cable in the trunk. I have to pull the trunk carpeting away on the side where the gas filler door is, and there's a red cable there that can be used as a manual release. I imagine your TT has one as well - look in the hatch on the side with the gas door, and pull the lining back - you'll probably have a release cable as well.

There is no button to open the gas door from the inside of the car.  As long as the doors are unlocked, you should be able to push in the far right side of the gas door and the left side will pop open. I too spent hours looking for this non existent button..I went as far as to going back to the car dealership.
