Re: 2000 hyundai accent wont start cuz no spark but put...
Are u gettting spark to your sparkplugs? if so it sounds like it might be a ECU problem... but before you go there i recomend you check all fuses inside/outside...

No ,,No fuse controling spark,,Your coil pack on top of motor could be cracked and causeing this or your fuel filter, or fuel pump, you could get a pressure test done to your pump at a garage,Check your spark plugs, change them if you can, change the fuel filter a good place to start,,,,,,,,,,,,Also is there a check engine lite on in the dash cluster? If so go to Auto Zone parts store and get a code scan done its free,,than they will give you a print out of the codes and what needs to be replaced,,most vehecles in the 90,s have or need 02 sensors that control your air fuel mixture,,,were talking gas mileage here.
- Spark Plugs (make sure they are gaped properly) - Spark Plug Wires - Coil Packs (if needed) or Distributor Cap & Rotor (which ever so equipped) - Air Filter - Fuel Filter - Oil - Oil Filter - Transmission Filter (optional) - Transmission Fluid (optional if you do change the trans filter you will need the fluid) - PCV Valve (optional) - Bottle Of Fuel Injector Cleaner (add to fuel tank kind)
#1. Scan for trouble codes. If any, record them and let us know which ones they are.
#2. Connect a fuel gauge to the fuel delivery line at the engine... try to start the engine while monitoring fuel pressure... if there is fuel pressure (approx 35 to 50 lbs), the problem is elsewhere.
If no fuel pressure, check fuel pump relay, fuse, wiring to fuel pump connector (power & ground - use 12volt test light). If power & ground are present, problem is the pump (fuel filter is attached to the fuel pump inside the tank).
#3. Check injectors for injector pulse, check ignition coils for spark to spark plugs.
If it skips just sometimes, then it could be the spark plug wires, if you change the plugs then its good to change the wires. Also take a timing light and connect to each of the wires one at a time, and rev the engine. Watch to see if the light skips. (an irregular flash) If so then trace the wire to the coil pack and replace the pack. Also anytime you replace spark plugs replace the fuel filter, air filter, and pvc valves.
