Cast iron heads ,about 85lbs alloy heads 70lbs ,sequence start in middle and then one bolt to left and then one bolt to right ,just keep going left to right tightening them and you cannot go wrong ,pull down with a rachet first then a nice snap on bar ,i never use a torque wrench i feel the stretch on the bolts ,but thats me so use a torque wrench

Headbolt torque specs for2003 saturn 2.2l ion

Cylinder head with a new gasket and new cylinder head bolts. Torque the long bolts, in sequence to 46 ft. lbs. (63 Nm) and the short bolts to 43 ft. lbs. (58 Nm) plus an additional 90 degree turn on all the bolts.

Thread Head bolt torque and sequence
Read the threads, but it states:
According to my manual the removal and the replacement sequence are different. Removal (looking from the cam sprockets )
headbolt 1-3-9-5-7 are on the left and 2-4-10-9-8 are on the right. Remove in that progression.
Instillation 9-5-1-3-7 are on the left and 10-6-2-4-8 are on the right tighten in that order.
Tighten to 25Nm or 18 ft/lb. and retighten the cyl hd blt 70 deg plus 70 deg plus 50 deg using the angular torque guage KM-470-B.
Hope this helps. Might help to make a sketch and label the 5 headbolts on each side.

First torque them in sequence to 13-16 ft.lbs.then in sequence to 85-95 degrees next do the same thing again torque to 85-95 degrees.

I need the headbolt torque specifications on a 1987 cheverolet cavalier with a 2.0 litre engine

My Chilton manual tells me 65-75 ft.lbs. I cn't send pics so this is the best I can do with tightening sequence.

I nee the head bolt torque specs for a 95 sable

    • Tighten retaining bolts in sequence to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.).
    • Then back off bolts 360°.
CAUTION: Always use new cylinder head bolts when installing cylinder head or damage to engine may occur.
  1. Tighten the cylinder head retaining bolts in two final tightening steps in sequence shown in the following illustration:
    • 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
    • 92 Nm (68 ft. lbs.)

For 1987-94 models, the cylinder head bolts are tightened in 3 progressive steps. Tighten them in the proper sequence as follows:
Step 1: 50-55 ft. lbs. (68-75 Nm) Step 2: 60-65 ft. lbs. (81-88 Nm) Step 3: 70-85 ft. lbs. (95-115 Nm) Let me know if I can assist you with anything else.
