If you have a 1999-2011 Mercury Marquis, Mercury Marauder, or Crown Victoria, and your headlights and or tail lights don\'t work, Ford just finally extended the warranty on your LCM (Lighting Control Module) for free - both parts and labor and will install a new one for free! Ford has extended the warranty to 15yrs/250,000. Must be done at Ford and the fix is free. Have your Vin # ready and call your local Ford Dealer and tell them you need to make an appointment because your lights don\'t work and Ford has extended your warranty on the LCM. Tell them it is the Customer Satisfaction Program 14N01. If they act ****** ask to talk to the manager or tell them to call Ford Motor Company and ask them or you can call Ford yourself. We just had ours done on 8-12-14 in Scottsdale, AZ. If you have a 99 you better get there before Oct. 14th, 2014 as it is a 15 year warranty.

Maybe it hasn't."

Tonight my headlights turned off while driving. I determined it has to do with my door jamb switch somehow.

I have seen this happen with only one vehicle in my life, and that was a ford crown vic. turns out its a light control module in a black box on the right upper side of the brake pedal.

Headlight will not come on, high beams will not come on , the passing lights work, brake lights work. and then randomly the headlight will start to work

You most likely have a failing Lighting Control Module. Search the Internet for "Crown Victoria Lighting Control Module" and you will find hundreds of references, from how to repair it yourself (requires soldering and technical expertise) or how to replace (reasonable cost of $100-$200) or how to buy replacement modules on eBay, Amazon.com and other sites.

2004 Crown Vic- Headlights come on when first started and stay lit. Once driven 20 minutes and shut off; they may fail to come on or come on and then go out. Using the 'flash' wand, the high beams will...

There is a resistor in the light control module under the driver side of the dash. You can replace the whole module which is about 100+ dollars or if you're good with soldering, replace the resistor. You will need to remove the box and open it up. Find out the resistor part number and replace it. This is a common problem on the 03-05 crown vics. Good luck

My dims work part of the time on 2003 crown vic, brights work

Try Autozone or similar and ask if they show a fusible link for the lights. Not sure if there are separate for low and high beam. Sometimes fusible links are under battery case and get crushed.

No high beam headlights 1996 crown victoria

does the flash to pass function work? That uses high beam bulbs.

If yes, I would bet $100 it's the lighting control module. Very expensive. @ $500. Can buy for $250 @ tascafordparts.com.

Sometimes on Ebay for cheap price.

--------------------------------
Lighting Control Module Principles of Operation
NOTE: Due to varying wattage ratings and resulting current draw, certain aftermarket headlamp bulbs may cause the lighting control module (LCM) to shut down the short circuit protection, resulting in the low beams becoming inoperative. Verify that the headlamp bulbs meet Ford specifications.
The lighting control module (LCM) receives inputs from the following:
  • headlamp switch
  • multifunction switch
  • photocell and amplifier
Depending on the inputs received, the LCM will command the headlamps on or off.

Power is supplied to the headlamps through lighting control module Circuit 502 (GY) and circuit protection C in the fuse junction panel. Ground is provided to the headlamp bulb and retainer (13N021) through Circuit 57 (BK).

The lighting control module is located under the instrument panel, to the right of the steering column, under the lower steering column cover.

Removal and Installation
  1. Open hood. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301).
  1. Disengage three pushpins and remove lower driver side intrument panel (04320) finish panel.
  1. Locate lighting control module above accelerator pedal.
  1. Disconnect bottom two eletrical connectors from lighting control module.
  1. Remove two screws retaining LCM to bracket and unclip from bracket.
  1. Remove lighting control module from bracket and disconnect two remaining electrical connectors.
  1. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Check lighting control module for proper operation.
---------------------------------

the module is about 6 inches lng and 4 inches wide and has 3 wire connectors.

Headlights going on and off

Unfortunately it is the light control module. This is a very common problem on the Crown Vic's, especially the 2003-2006 models. Try your local junk yard. It is located under the dash just above the gas pedal. There are 4 small screws that hold it in and one small wiring harness.
