i have check coil a\c working fine before a\c connector damaged, rechecked coil, still working fine, with a\c connector pluged or unpluged ,no wires show any power, When reverse test each wire ,all show they are grounded, have check relays, they click when turning on a\c switch, have moved around relays also.Wires from compressor plug and pressure switch run back in wiring harness about 6" back there is a plastic shield on harness with tag that says dioade, have checked wires on both side of diaode, and they are showing all wires grounded, before and after.Checked with local ford dealer, they could not find any diaod in harness, suggested go to auto-parts store and get fusible link ,to put in place of diaode .parts store does not carry such item.do not know if that would be the problem or not.

The schraeder valve is self contained and the switch can be removed without loss of freon or the need to recharge. Just pop a new one on and away you go.

Disconnect the battery negative side ,for about 25 seconds, then reconnect, this will reset the ac system.Be sure there is enough freon in the system,or it will do this again.

Like I said, make sure there is enough freon,un plug the compressor, and see if you can get voltage then,if so,then the ac clutch coil is shorted.See if there is a high side pressure switch on the rear of the compressor, make sure it is connected, and not damaged,if so,it will not complete the circuit.A good way to test the clutch, and check to see if there is enough freon in the system,is to run a positive wire to the compressor, and let it run,to make sure it is cooling real good, and of course ,this will let you know if the clutch coil is good.Let me know how you come out on these test,I am going to look at a schematic at work,I will be back in4 hours,I will check in then, but you can let me know your findings meanwhile,ok?

Replacing the diode with a fusible link, does not make sense, but if you are going to replace it with a fusible link,NAPA has them ,any size shape or form. The diode allows the dc current to travel one way,and one way only, this is installed to keep the coil from generating voltage backwards to the ignition,in hope when turning the engine off,it does not try to stay running.Did you look at the rear of the compressor for the high pressure cut off? There may not be one,but thought I would have you check ,just the same.Find the low pressure cycle switch, and unplug it,use a wire to connect the two wires from the connector, that where plugged into the switch. In other words, you are by passing the switch.See if the compressor will activate. There are two wires on the high pressure switch also, see if you can by pass them the same way, these have ground going threw them.Try this and let me know, cause these switches will not allow positive voltage to flow to the clutch coil.Does the blower motor work fine,on all speeds?Let me know something,I am trying to help,

Another thing, you will have to start the engine, and turn the ac on,to test this system,or it will not activate the ac clutch.

I recommend that you look in the yellow pages under autoelectric repair shops. These shops have all of the diagnostic equipment necessary to find this problem with out any guessing involved.
You will be up and running again in no time and you will not have wasted any time and money unnecessarily. J.

When the plug became damaged, it may have shorted out a wire further on down the line, also it may have damaged the main fan relay, this controls most of the engines main electrical components. Good luck and let me know if i can further assist! HOPE THIS HELPS!

Does the AC relay click when you turn on the switch. You should hear and be able to feel it click. If it does not then chances are the connector shorted taking out the AC commamd part of the PCM. A simple test with a diagnostic scanner can activate the command on the PCM. If it fails to then the PCM is bad.

Serpentine belt Ford 350 how to replace without AC how to put on the Belt

Dear Steve,
You have not mentioned the year, make, or model of the vehicle, but I am guessing you wish to install a serpentine belt on a Ford motor product that had a AC compressor, and you wish to put on a belt bypassing that compressor.
Well, maybe so, maybe no.
I have tried this many times.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
You problem will be in the routing and the clearances.
You will need to have the belt run or operate all the accessories and equipment except the AC.
If you will take a piece of rope or tape, and try to stretch that into the position of the future belt, you may see quickly whether the new shorter belt will "hit" a problem, or even if it will be too close to an item (such as the AC compressor) to be installed.
God bless your efforts.

Glow plugs

You'll find the glow plugs where spark plugs would be in a gasoline engine (in the cylinder heads).
The glow plugs will be smaller than spark plugs and, like a light bulb, will burn out and loose electrical continuity. You can check them in place with an ohm meter:
Remove the wire attached to the positive end and mesaure resistance to gound (engine block) through the plug. Unscrew failed glow plugs and install replacements. Carefully clean around the plugs prior to removal (to prevent dirt entering the engine) and apply the correct anti-seize compound to the threads of the new plugs where they screw into the heads. Be sure the wires are well connected without any corrosion or oxidation (no resistance).
Take your time and work carefully so as to avoid breaking or cross threading plugs. Do not wash the engine with water or detergent as the injector pump is delicate.
