My 1995 C220 Elegance auto petrol car started to do this and finally would only drag along at 2000 revs and it wouldn't change up gears. The air mass meter was not the problem. The monolith in the cat had disintegrated blocking the exhaust gases and telling the ECU to slow things down. I got a non-merc cat for around £100 and it recovered immediately.
I assume that you are refer to the fault code P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input
If this is corrrect, check this Diagnostic Trouble Code to inspect and solve.
Hope help.
1. First time you need to specify the engine type: fuel (ex: CDI), capacity (ex: 2.2 liters).
2. When was the fuel filter last time changed?
3. Does the engine yellow Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is lightning on the dash board?
I'm waiting for yours response in order to help you to fix the problem.
For Mercedes C200 2.2 CDI (2005):
1. EOBD fault code: P0103
2. Fault location: Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor / Volume Air Flow (VAF) sensor - high input
3. Probable cause: Wiring short to positive, MAF / VAF sensor, Engine Control Module (ECM)
First time you must check up wire by wire the MAF sensor electrical supply cable from the ECM. Try to find out if there is a short to positive wire!
The MAF sensor (B30) includes inside the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (B25).
On the MAF sensor (B30) you have 5 wires:
1. Violet wire #1 is coming from #31 pin from ECM (A35).
2. Brown wire #2 is coming from #17 pin from ECM (A35).
3. Green wire #3 is coming from #61 pin from ECM (A35).
4. Blue wire #4 is coming from #64 pin from ECM (A35).
5. Red / blue wire #5 is coming from #85 pin from ECM (A35).
For electrical continuity & resistance wires checking (between wires, positive and earth) you must disconnect the battery from car terminals and use a multimeter.
Let me know please what you will find out.

You must be having a check engine light or maintenance coming up on the dashboard, if yes the best way to start troubleshooting this problem is to run a diagnostic test on the vehicle. Also after changing the mass air flow meter did you reset the ECM ?If not then this is required after any repair you do.Hope this helps.

the fault is saying air intake to high
after clearing the ecm,and just say the problem continues do you have any idea what it could be
