Scenic dificult to change gears would it be clutch cable sretched or would it need replaceing

not a clutch problem unless you have just done a clutch kit change
more likely a hydraulic clutch problem ( air in the system) or master cylinder needing replacement .
if it is a cable operated clutch , replace the clutch

Sounds like you have a badly worn clutch plate. Have shop confirm this.

Pilot shaft or throw-out bearing ?
It's pull the transmission time.
Replace every part that can only be replaced with the transmission removed. Don't cheap out.
I can't tell you the number of times people only replace what's bad, then have to go back into the transmission a short time later for a new problem that would not have occurred if all the parts had been replaced.

check out the operation of the clutch system .IT is difficult to rationalise a hydraulic clutch because if it is slipping that means that the pressure plate is being held off and not fully engaging but it also means that when pressing on the clutch the there would be no problem changing gears . But if you have a cable clutch operation then it is possible that the cable is jamming inside the outer cover and holding the pressure plate off ( slipping) and gear problems. If it is cable then replace the cable first. If hydraulic then it may mean box out for a new clutch kit.

If you do have two clutches , then they come as one unit, you have to replace them both

possible clutch cable or cluth itself, check the clutch cable first to see if its stretched, i didnt check and put a new clutch in ,and wasted £250 , try euro car parts for cheapest clutch cable.

Get a second opion, but it looks like the thrust bearing is on its way out. That'll probably involve changing the clutch as well. Do it soon or you'll wreck the gearbox.

you have checked brake fluid.
if ok then clutch.
if fluid low, fill, bleed the slave cylinder and its cured

sounds like that the clutch disk and the pressure plate hasve worn out and they have to be replaced.make sure that the fly wheel is not worped or damaged and if it is it has to be dither machined or replaced
