How do you remove a fuse from under dash board in a 98 chev prizm

in one of 2 fuse boxes
one in engine bay
one in cab , dash, did you look under dash?
see that there. and fuse marked RADIO or RAD.
????

you forgot to say, where is the fuse box under hood?
or forgot to say, i found it (sure anyone can) but the words on them
are lost/? markings? (where is my fuse map)
why not post symptoms first.then ask for fuses and what not

why not get one and read the fuse page.

yes, there is a fuse box under hood and in dash.
sure, and both are covered in the oper, guide and FSM.

Check your fuses first both under the dash, in the glovebox and under the hood. May also be your lightswitch or your brainbox; but highly unlikely to be that. Check other stuff first.

I could be wrong but I believe there are 2 fuses. One is under the hood in the fuse block and the other is in the fuse panel either on the side of the drivers side dash board or under the dash on the drivers side. Open the drivers door and see if there is a removable panel there. When you replaced the switch, did you test the wires witha volt meter to see if you have power at the switch? Did you test the main line for power at the tail lights?

Your spark plugs are damaged

Is that not a no brainer?

Timing belt & you may have major damage
to valves,pistons etc

Need to get a camera inside cylinder to inspect
& then do a cylinder leak down test

Yes the two circuits are turned on by the headlight switch, but have separate fuses.

Sounds almost too simple but have you checked the wiring to the parking brake. If it is depressed enough to light the brake light in the dash the DRL's will not light or if the wires are not hooked up same problem. You also state you have checked the control board under the dash I assume you are talking about the Diode an aluminium finned box a little bit larger than a deck of playing cards under the dash on the right side of the steering colum at the swell in the dash. remove this diode and insert a shunt in the connector and see if those babies light up if so its the diode

remove dash face plate around radio there will be small screws or studs with nuts around the sides of radio attached to a mounting plate. Unhook wire harness on radio and pull from dash

open the PASSENGER FRONT DOOR and look on the side of dash

on the 98 model the fuse box can be removed without removing the whole dash board.
