2005 Dodge Grand Caravan power modular was replaced but the power door locks quit working we reset by taking out the fuse but it still happens

The door locks work through the body control module. If that's the module you recently replaced, have it checked for proper operation before looking elsewhere.

Which fuse is the one for the door locks

The 2005 Dodge Caravans have software problem in the BCM that causes the power locks to quit working. The only fix is to bring the van to a dealer for a software flash update.Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_the_fuse_located_for_power_door_locks_on_a_2005_Dodge_Grand_Caravan #ixzz271oz6ROB

disconnect the battery cable and pull the BCM fuse and do system reset and the door locks may work fine again.

also ro try to get the power door locks working. pull and reinstall (but not replace) all fuses and fuse blocks (but not the relays). The locks may start working after that.

disconnecting and reconnecting the lamp and horn relays may fix same issue with the locks.
Several people suggested resetting the fuses under the hood, and it worked. Others tried unplugging and plugging back in the battery and that also worked for them.

2005 Grand Caravan power door lock quit working. Side doors and rear cargo doors still open with keyless remote. Door lock "honks" when button pushed, but locks will not automatically...

This is a common issue with the 2005 Caravan. To fix the issue you can disconnecting your battery or disconnect the IOD fuse for 10 - 30 seconds in the fuse box located in the engine compartment. This is not a permant fix. Inorder to get this fixed permantly you need to take it to a dealer so they can update your computer.

Power door locks not working

Power lock of the doors are operated hydraulically or pneumatically. So basically one has to trace the motor & its attached pipeline. The reason could be due to leakage of fluid or the motor malfunction. If current is not reaching the motor, first check its fuse Then the motor itself. The trigger if on a remote keychain, then first check if it has sufficient batter(charge) to activate the sensor of door locks. But if it cannot be used by the central button activated by the driver then no more choices left but the Motor and/or the hydraulic line.........sodeep

My 2005 Dodge Caravan power locks don't lock or unlock...have to use them manually. Please let me know a solution. Thanks.

the body computer needs to be either flashed to latest software and that does correct your problem most of the time.. other timmes the body computer may need to be replaced..there is also a possible switch malfunction... you can try disconnecting the battery for at least 5 minutes and that will clear any malfunctions that are causing the computer to disable the locking system

Power locks do not work- where are the fuses inside the the van

The problem is the BCM. The fix is a software update. Resetting the computer by removing and then replacing the 20 amp fuse marked 10D in the fuse box under the hood next to the battery is a temporary fix.

Automatic door locks

I just had this problem tonight, did a Yahoo search and happened on this site, just tried pulling the IOD fuse (located in the covered panel next to the battery BTW), and re-installed it, and everything works again. Thanks for the tip!
