I have a 1996 Grand Cherokee Jeep Truck I just purchased and the gas gauge is not working it's on empty even when fill it up!

Check the Fuel Sending Unit in the fuel pump. Disconnect the wire to the sending unit, at the tank, and ground it to the car frame. Turn the key to on and see if the fuel gauge goes to Full. If it does the gauge and wire are good and the problem is in the sending unit. If it's still on E the gauge is bad or the wire is open.

My gas gauge does not work even though the gas tank was replaced

The gas tank has nothing to do with the gauge. The fuel pump float could be stuck or the slide could have been bent when the pump was put back in. Also, the electrical connector could be unplugged or sot fully connected. This happens when someone pulls the wire instead of the plug.

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fuel Gauge not working

There could be two problems here:
1. That buoy floating tank is not working properly

I have a 1991 Jeep Sport with a full gauge that always shows full. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or fix?

This is going to sound a little back woods but try hitting your gas tank with a hammer or kicking it because your float that sends the amount to your gauge is stuck.

Cherokee sport 2000 gas gauge reads empty even when tank is full

My guess is it's the fuel sending unit which is in the fuel tank itself. A lot of vehicles sending unit is part of the fuel pump, if you're a pretty good mechanic, you can run the tank down really low, lower the fuel tank and replace the sending unit.

1996 jeep Cherokee sport all instrument gauge cluster kicks on and off.when it stops working the fuel gauge goes to full with the low fuel light on,rpm, speedometer and mileage stop working.some times I'll...

Check VSS Vehicule Speed Sensor wire may be corroted, bad connection or faulty; if 2wd the adaptor is located on the extension housing of the transmission (left side)
if 4wd look on transfer case extension (left side)

Good luck
