with the P2004 and P2008 code OBD-II Trouble Codes: Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open Bank 1. The easiest fix is to replace the Intake Manifold Runner Control @ carparts.com for a total of $35 bucks. But first check the vacuum hose attached to the Runner Control. If its cracked or has some sort of leak it'll throw the codes.
Best to you.
There is a rod passing through the intake manifold that rotates butterfly valves inside the ports. It is actuated by a lever on the end of the manifold that is moved by a small motor. The codes indicate that the actuator is not functioning or the rod is stuck from turning. Check the connector to the motor and the wiring. See if you can rotate the rod by hand.
Hello! #1...I need to know if the Check engine Light is on...If it is, take the vehicle to an Auto Zone or Advanced Auto (any auto parts store) and they, for free will read the code/codes...send the trouble codes to me and I'll fix your Focus...#2 tell me which engine is in the car; give me the sub model ie...SE, ZTS....etc...If there isn't a CEL tell me....Guru...Saailer
The check engine light is letting you know there is a problem that needs to be taken care of. Take your car to a good auto parts store such as Auto Zone, and have them put a scanner on your car. They will do this for free, and will give you the trouble codes that are stored in the car's computer. The codes will let us know where the problem is and we can figure out what needs to be fixed.
my 04 zts was throwing the same code. I got under the car and found a vacume hose that was off of an actuator thing ,put it back on and hasn't thrown code since
