We have a jaguar xj6 sports auto. 1997. occasionally it will just stop at a junction or island, it will go for a day or 2 with no problem, then it will stop again, always starts again. There seems to be no pattern to it. it will go for miles with no problem and then just stop??
Could be a dirty crankshaft sensor had the same problem plugged in to the computer no faults found checked all sensors and found the crankshaft sensor dirty changed it problem solved
Possibile ignition control module problem Check for spark when problem occurs No spark.. Follow wires from distributor to icm box. Open box and you will find a gerneral motors ignition module. Remove module and have tested at local parts store. Replace if bad. Jaguar wants over $300.00 for IGNITION AMPLIFIER UNIT. You should get gm module for under 50 bucks.
