I assume then that this is a v6. Bank one should be the drivers side (I think) . Sensor 1 would be the one before the catalytc convertor and sensor 2 would be the one after it.

07 suzuki xl7 po420 code. Oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1 i believe. Location in the engine. Thanks..

the cold from hell,,
CAT monitor. know it well, too well.

no its not that.
the code tells that engine has a lazy or dead cat.
no engine stated.
its and XL-7 not and XL7, they are different cars.
3.6L V6
bank one is failing the person who told you bank 2 is full of beans.

"Catalyst Efficiency Below Normal (Bank 1)" SM quote. we change the front B1S1 front sensor first.
then the B1S2, sensor next.
then the CAT if sure no exhaust leaks are on Bank1.
S1 is front
S2 is rear
bank 1, is cylinder 1 side
bank 1 is,, right bank, usa is passenger side

look for leaks first in exhuast
then bad 02s, on right side , damage to wires.
the new sensors.
then new cat, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ last

On a 02 Suzuki xl7 what side of the car is the #1 cylinder. I am trying to find the 02 sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

#1 is left side, drivers, or in UK its be passengers. side/.
the word LEFT works on all cars world wide. and is clear.
we drive LHD cars here, but not in UK, or other countries.

the #1 cylinder the most forward cylinder on all v6s
just one glance from top and bingo.
H27engine
or 3.6L>

bolt the H20 to h27a are left side, #1 see photo.

3.6L
. The right bank of cylinders are number 1-3-5 and the left bank of cylinders are 2-4-6. The engine firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6.

so Bank2 is RIGHT. as is B2s1, front. right.

as clearly seen here, see how #1 sits forward?

Suzuki xl7 oxeygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2

You will need a special socket to remove the 02 sensors and a good solvent to spray on the threads to help break them loose. The socket can be purchased at most auto parts stores.
